Background of The Problem• In the Asean countries, Indonesia has the highest
of mother death rate and prenatal. It means thatthe totally qualifiead improvements in the aspectare still necessary. Being predicted that thechildbirth rate in the Indonesia is about 5.000.000/ year, it can be described that the mother death
rate is 19.500 – 200.000 annually or 26 – 27 casesminute ( Manuaba, 1998 ).
• Syahri (2002), in his research about maternal care
program, states that the high rate of family andsocial care. The lack of it can lead to the threekinds of late action, including : recognizing thedanger, taking to the referred place and givingtreatment in the referred place.

• The men participation in the reproductionhealth is so low. In KB program only 2%
participation of men. Mother date rate (AKI)in indonesia is high; 373/100.000 succesfulchildbirth, in which 17.000 fatal cases occur
because of three kinds of late treatmen and68% of childbirth is without accompanimentof husband. The level of high fatalitychildbirth and low quality of womanreproduction come from the patriarchalcustom (Anonymous, 2004).
• Childbirth process is one of factor causing ananxiety because it is not only somatic butalso psychosomatic (Kartono, 1992).

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/power-point-neni 19/24
DISCUSSION
The result shows that the whole respondents get the high scores(14-25).
in husband accompaniment, it is obtained that the high anxietyin respondents accompanied by their husband is lower 16,7%than those without. In the anxiety level of the respondentwithout husband accompaniment is 40%.
The anxiety on pregnant mother before childbirth processcomes from the worriedness of unwanted situation both by
anxiety, unconcentration, trembling, easy to get angry, coldsweat, stressed, frequent urinating, upchucking are kinds ofprocess happens. The mother feels that it is hard to conduct thechildbirth and consequently, some of them say that they areubwilling to have babies anymore.
By using the statistic test Chi-Square, it is obtained thathusband support system during the childbirth process stage Icorrelates significantly with the mother anxiety level(r²=15,765; P=0,000 < 0,05). It assumes that there is ameaningful relationship between husband support system andthe mother anxiety level in childbirth process stage I.

Barrier Factor
1. Not all normally childbirth mother accompanied bytheir husbands can be used as respondents because
their processes happen at the sametime, so yhe writercannot observe all the processes.
2. Not all husbands can be regarded as respondents because some of them are just waiting oraccompanying outside the childbirth room. It may be
caused by the lack of knowledge about theimportance of husband support system

CONCLUSIONS & SUGGESTIONS
1. The husband accompaniment in childbirth process shows
that all respindents get the high scores (14-25). It exposes that
all respondents need their husband beside them during theprocess.
NEXT

SUGGESTIONS
NEXT
1. For the research.
It needs condusting a wider-scoped research byconsidering other variables influencing the anxiaty.
2. For the Paramedic.
a. It is hoped that they should apply therapeuticcommunication because it has very important rolein every maternal service processes, so it can keepthe clients satisfied and reduce their anxiety.
b. It is necessary to give guidances to mother abouthow the childbirth processes happen and what preparation should be done in order to minimizethe level of anxiety.

3. For the Couple.
It is expected that the couple (husband and
wife) should take care of their reproductional
health, and husband should participate in
improving mother health and give more
support from the pregnancy to the childbirth
process.
