Exmouth Ceramic Group has been running for over 35 years and is based in Meeting Street, working in partnership with the charity Rethink.

The Ceramic Group is thriving with fifty members, including associate and life members. It is a voluntary, non-profit making organisation.

All money is ploughed back into the workshop and used for repairing and maintaining the two kilns, potter’s wheels and other equipment, as well as buying clays and glazes and any other materials required for the smooth running of the workshop.

The workshop is a unique place where members, who are all enthusiastic amateurs, can get together and further their interests in pottery.

All members are encouraged to assist in the running of the workshop, so helping to maintain good standards, conditions and equipment for all users.

The main aim of the group is to promote learning and enjoyment of pottery for everyone.

Members also organise Raku firing days and social events.

Full members are drawn from student members, who attend a workshop for at least a year (run by the Ceramic Group) giving them the opportunity to get to know the set up of the workshop/group.

CREATIVE CERAMICS

The courses are only open to “Rethink Mental Health” Service Users.

Thursdays 1.30pm– 4pm 10 week courses
