Getting the most out of the Open Day

This Open Day has been designed to give you an insight into the broad range of postgraduateresearch opportunities available at Manchester. Some programmes may involve a taught element, or specific training in research skills; others may focus on interdisciplinary research, or involve aresearch partnership with another institution orexternal organisation.

In the first session, you will be able to hear fromProfessor Matt Lambon-Ralph, our Associate VicePresident for Research, on the importance ofpostgraduate research students to our researchoutput. Next, you will be able to browse our ResearchShowcase, featuring a poster exhibition by currentpostgraduate research students, as well as theResearcher Development / Skills Training teams fromeach Faculty. After lunch, the rest of your day will bespent at events organised by each Faculty, giving youthe opportunity to find out about your area of interestin more detail, discover our inter-disciplinary DoctoralTraining Programmes and Centres for DoctoralTraining, and tour our world-class facilities.
