Een jonge ingenieur moest drie offertes beoordelen voor het automatiseren van het logistieke proces in een

magazijn. Offerte A voldeed niet aan de specificaties en was tevens te duur. Offerte B voldeed niet helemaal

aan de specificaties maar was het goedkoopst. Offerte C kwam met een uitstekende oplossing die zelfs punten adresseerde waar de opdrachtgever nog niet aan had

gedacht maar was duurder dan offerte C. De manager van de jonge ingenieur gaf hem de opdracht om

leverancier B aan het werk te zetten volgens de aanpak van leverancier C.

Je bent masterstudent aan de TU Delft. Je afstudeeronderzoek is onderdeel van

een project dat zich richt op de realisatie van een nieuwe woonwijk in een

poldergebied. Tijdens je onderzoek kom je erachter dat de ontwikkeling schadelijk kan zijn voor

het milieu in de omgeving.

Een aantal jaar geleden ben je afgestudeerd bij de Faculteit Bouwkunde van de TU Delft.

Nu word je als architect gevraagd om een mooi, innovatief gebouw te ontwerpen dat middenin een authentieke wijk zal komen te staan. In de verdere

omgeving zijn geen moderne gebouwen aanwezig en jouw ontwerp zal binnen dit gebied erg opvallen en

niet aansluiten bij de sociale context. De opdrachtgever is zich hier bewust van maar wil

met het gebouw juist opvallen.

Je bent promotor van een PhD-student. Hij presenteerde je gisteren de resultaten van

zijn laboratoriumstudie. Je hebt sterk het gevoel dat er iets raars met de resultaten aan de hand

is. Op basis van eerder werk van deze PhD-student hebben jullie een artikel ingestuurd

naar een voornaam tijdschrift. De verwachting is dat dit artikel binnenkort wordt geaccepteerd.

De PhD-student noteert alle stappen van het onderzoek in een journaalschrift. Het is in

jullie lab niet gebruikelijk dat begeleiders deze journaalschriften inkijken.

Je bent begeleider van een afstudeerproject van een internationale masterstudent. Na diverse gesprekken en aanwijzingen merk je dat deze

student niet in staat is om het project zelfstandig af te ronden. Je weet ook dat het zeer belangrijk

voor deze student is om zijn masterstudie succesvol af te ronden. Na negen maanden trek

je de conclusie dat het niveau van de masterthese onvoldoende blijft.
