PRESSUR E GROUP (PG) Introduction Pressure group is defined as non- profit and voluntary organization which seek to influence political. The function of PG is to influence the people who have the power to make decisions. Besides that, PG have the right to vote and the right to petition by make their voices heard in democratic system Objectives In this research, we want to investigate the definition, history and background, type and function of PG. We also identify the advantages and disadvantages of the PG, how does the PG help the public. Besides that, we want to investigate whether PG can enhance democracy or otherwise Methodology Our research is carried out through surfing internet survey consultation with professor and refer to journal. Questionnaire is given to 30 UTAR students and interview among the UTAR students to collect the data and information for the research purpose Results A political party is a group of people organized together to further a political aim. PG seeks to influence the public policy-making process but without attempting to take over directly the control and conduc of government. These aims are based on the common interests of the members. Basically, there are four categories of PG. First, Institutional PG, anomic PG, association PG and non- association PG. Four strategies used by pressure group are lobbying, mass campaign, public protests and litigation. There are advantages and disadvantages of PG towards the political system. Bersih is a non-governmental organization which seek to reform the electoral system in Malaysia to ensure free, clean and fair elections. Main concern of CAP’s is to ensure the right of every consumer on daily The aims of WWF are to Prevent our life system to be further damaging and to educate people how to live with natural resources that surround us but not polluting or poisoning them
