POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT
PGPEM 2017-2019
Two-Year Weekend Residential Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management
Transforming experience to expertise
Enterprises need something more than just seniority
Years of experience in a company do not always equate to a great career
The dynamics of the modern day business world demands more than just seniority to succeed. Growth is subject to not only how long the employee has been in the organization, but also depends on how capable and learned one is to step up to that leadership position.
IIMB’s Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) is a two-year diploma programme delivered over weekends. PGPEM is equivalent to IIMB’s one-year full-time programme in terms of credits, but does not require you to quit your job to enhance your managerial qualifications. Its innovative design and schedule not only allows you to continue to work as you upgrade your knowledge, but also lets you balance personal and family commitments.
This programme is tailored for you to learn multi-dimensional skills (Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behaviour, Operations, Strategy, Economics & Social Sciences and International Business) and helps you progress in your career.
You walk in on a Friday evening, learn till the sun goes down, stay back at the pristine and relaxing campus, wake up to learn again all day on Saturday and still have the Sunday all for yourself. It’s as simple as that.

Why IIMB?IIMB’s intellectually stimulating environment and state-of-the-art infrastructure is the perfect setting for the PGPEM. The vast green spaces and tranquility of the campus with well equipped classrooms and other facilities will make your learning experience unique, fulfilling and memorable. IIMB has a tradition of strong academic programmes that challenge participants to explore real-world management scenarios through interactive classroom-based lectures and discussions.
The Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) is designed around the delivery of knowledge using participant-centric methods where students are encouraged to question the usual management models and ways of thinking and to widen their perspective by getting new insights. This creates the atmosphere for the participants to rediscover their own capabilities and gives them the skill to reflect on some of the challenges in their own work place.
IIMB brings together students and faculty from diverse backgrounds from across the world. Participants learn from world-class faculty and at the same time strengthen their network through collaboration with peers. Designed for working mid-career and senior executives, PGPEM is tailored to integrate corporate experience with classroom learning. They also get to interact with participants from different countries who come to IIMB on exchange programmes or when they themselves go on exchange programmes to partner universities or join country-specific immersion programmes in other parts of the world. As a result, participants benefit from discussing strategic issues with peers from different regions.
Pursue a premium management programme without having to leave your job

Message from the Chairperson The PGPEM gives a holistic understanding of management so that participants can shift the focus from their siloed functions to a synergistic, organization-wide perspective. It prepares participants for top management roles. This programme is unique as it has the rigors of a full-time programme, yet allows participants to apply classroom learnings, in real time, at their workplaces.
The PGPEM programme also gives international exposure, as participants can go on exchange programmes with premier partner universities worldwide. The PGPEM attracts participants from different industries such as finance, consulting, technology, and manufacturing and thus enables divergent perspectives to thrive in the classroom. It attracts people who have the fire to learn and excel. I have enjoyed teaching and also learning from them.

Prof. R Srinivasan, Director Incharge, IIMB
“We are privileged to be in Bengaluru, the growth hub of the Indian economy. The PGPEM offers us the unique opportunity to educate participants drawn from a truly talented pool.”
Prof. B Mahadevan
“I find the PGPEM students to have diversified interests in terms of the skills and concepts that they want to learn. More importantly, if properly facilitated they are able to bring some interesting aspects from their workplace into the classroom discussion, which invariably add richness to the discussions. Teaching PGPEM is always a pleasure for me as I deal with students who bring maturity and seriousness with them.”
Prof. Damodaran
“An enthusiastic group of experienced executives who travel ‘miles’ to reach our campus on weekends and yet show no signs of weariness in the classroom. PGPEM participants bring in their diverse backgrounds and enormous experience to bear upon their studies. They have an unusual ability to gel as a group and work on interesting themes with quality results as I could discover from my association with them. The interesting work they do at IIMB , I am told, has yielded them dividends in their workplace. I have always enjoyed teaching and interacting with them.”
Prof. Abhoy K Ojha
“IIMB offers a range of programmes. However, the PGPEM is unique. It is focused on enhancing the management expertise of highly experienced and mature professionals who want to continue with their work engagements simultaneously. The participants of the programme join to acquire management knowledge out of their own choice, and not due to peer or family pressure. This has a huge impact on the character of the programme and the learning experience. Participants learn in the classroom, and also learn by sharing their own experiences - the opportunity to stay on campus on Friday nights only enhances the opportunities of peer-to-peer learning. As a faculty member, I find it very fulfilling to teach in this programme. Even as they learn from me, I
learn so much from them about the industry happenings and trends during my interactions. Having been associated with the PGPEM for long, and being aware of the success of the alumni of this programme, I wholeheartedly recommend it for any mid-career professional who aspires to join the top management ranks.”

Prof. S Ramesh Kumar
“The Indian context is dynamic, complex and diverse. Management education is just not about state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology - IIMB’s seasoned and time-tested faculty resources set it apart from other business schools. IIMB provides executives an opportunity to develop themselves as sub-brands with the support of the mother brand IIMB. Such a branding effort is a pre-requisite for every executive who would like to be a thought leader and who can add intrinsic value to management practices. Exposure to Indian cases, cutting-edge research and insightful lectures make learning at IIMB a valuable as well as a memorable experience. Academic rigor that offers a differentiated perspective to practice-based executives is a feature that runs across courses.
Teaching Consumer Behavior to a diverse set of top-notch PGPEM executives and challenging them to put in their best efforts to achieve the learning objectives in the subject is always a recharging experience for me.”
Prof. Rejie George Pallathitta
“It was a truly wonderful experience teaching the PGPEM class. The diversity of experiences which the cohort of students brought to the classroom provided a unique and enriching experience while discussing and analyzing cases. I found the class to be always motivated and well-prepared despite having to manage pressing work commitments during the week and I found the observations of the class to be extremely perceptive. Teaching the class has been a unique learning experience for me as an instructor as well. A remarkable feature that encapsulated the continuing enthusiasm of the students was the engagement of the class on the issues raised during the sessions long after the session was over”
