The process of designing a model home, clubhouse and sales offi ce design is straight forward when understood and agreed upon by the client and design team. Possibilities for Design approaches the design process in the following sequence:
DUE DILIGENCEPossibilities for Design will verify a site, research the area and try to visit the competition whenever possible to get a better understanding of the market. We will then use this information to add value to the project.
PROGRAMMING/ BUYER PROFILE RESEARCHPossibilities for Design will begin gathering programming information for the “kick-off” meeting. Decision makers will be identifi ed, procedures for communication will be determined and schedules, budgets, goals, objectives, requirements and priorities for the project will be established.
CONCEPT PRESENTATIONSPossibilities for Design will take the programming information and mesh it into the design process. Interior color palettes will be presented as will furniture styles and themes, space planning options and suggestions for interior specifi cations. Once these decisions have been approved, the design will go into design development.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT / SPACE PLANNING / SCHEMATIC DESIGN Schematic design & design development are the most important parts of the process and require the most attention from the “decision makers”. Design development is the step in which Possibilities for Design will propose fi nal interior design, furniture and fi nish solutions. This phase of the project also includes fi nalizing specifi cations and plan documents. Any necessary revisions will be made and once approved these items will be in our drawings and specifi cation forms. All specifi cations will be approved by the team and upon approval, ordering will proceed.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT / PUNCH LISTWalk thrus and meetings with fi eld personnel will be scheduled. There will be questions in the fi eld and possible re-specifi cation of products that will need to take place due to product drops, price increase or availability. Possibilities for Design will respond as necessary in order to keep the project moving forward. Upon completion of the construction and installation, Possibilities for Design will conduct a walk-thru to determine success of installations and to address any concerns.PR

WHY HIRE POSSIBILITIES FOR DESIGN?
Prioritize Budget and ScheduleThere are a lot of talented designers out there but it doesn’t matter how talented a designer is if they disregard the budget or delay an opening date. Possibilities for Design makes the budget and schedule a priority and then fi nds creative ways in which to ensure a quality design solution. At the beginning of every project, Possibilities for Design has a meeting with the purchasing agent , if applicable, to discuss the budget, schedule and expectations of the owner. Together, we are able to identify the best vendors for the project to ensure the best buying power while still maintaining the integrity of the design. We pay close attention to the budget while we develop the design so that it doesn’t have to be re-designed a second time by the purchasing agent or Owner.
Communication Possibilities for Design believes strongly in providing good communication and quick response. We believe in documenting the important things so they don’t fall through the cracks and being proactive. We prefer to spend more time on the front end of a project so that we can prevent “guess work” and “fi re drills” on the back end.
Architectural BackgroundPossibilities for Design understands the construction process and can assist an owner in more ways than just offering interior design services. Our fi rm is conscious of building codes, ADA, LEED, MEP and architecture as it affects the interior environment.
Solution OrientedUltimately, on every project there will be unanticipated confl icts that arise. Possibilities for Design prefers to be solution oriented and focus on positive ways to move forward. Placing blame and dwelling on what should have happened is a waste of time and energy.
Ego FreeAt Possibilities for Design, our objective is to work on behalf of the owner(s) to provide them the design that they are looking for without hidden agendas. Our philosophy is that the more creative minds working on a project together, the better the design will be for the client. We embrace a team concept and work to facilitate cooperation at every level.
