Ro.14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating anddrinking, but righteousness and peace and joy inthe Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in thesethings[e]is acceptable to God and approved by men

God's kingdom isn't a matter of what you put inyour stomach, for goodness' sake. It's what Goddoes with your life as he sets it right, puts ittogether, and completes it with joy. Your task is tosingle-mindedly serve Christ. Do that and you'll kill

two birds with one stone: pleasing the God aboveyou and proving your worth to the people aroundyou.

This SINGLE-MINDNESS is the key to kingdomrighteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Todays subtle enemy is this multi-taskingmentality that complicates and distracts us fromthe simplicity that is in Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceivedEve by his craftiness, so your minds may be

corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Think about how SIMPLE it is to love andserve Jesus!

Mt.22:36 Teacher, which is the greatcommandment in the law?37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORDyour God with all your heart, with all yoursoul, and with all your mind.[a] 38 This is thefirst and great commandment.

Yet, think how we have made this socomplicated! Our religious minds needJesus!

Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things,

And desperately wicked;Who can know it?10 I, the LORD, search the heart,

I test the mind,Even to give every man according to his ways,According to the fruit of his doings.

God is trying to deliver us from the deceitfulness of

our own hearts. He is testing us in order toAPPROVE us, not reject us!

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; forwhen he has been approved, he will receive thecrown of life which the Lord has promised tothose who love Him. (James 1:12)

Ja. 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says invain, The Spirit who dwells in us yearnsjealously?6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble.

Grace comes from humbling yourself,humbling yourself is an attitude ofREPENTANCE:

reference to repentance from sin, and this

change of mind involves BOTH a turningFROM sin and a turning TO God (Vines)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war afterthe flesh:

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, butmighty through God to the pulling down of strong

holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that

exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, andbringing into captivity every thought to the obedienceof Christ;

These fortresses exist in the thoughtpatterns and ideas that govern us.

High thing: elevated, barrier

Repentance is a powerful weapon against

the lies and deception of satan.

Realize repentance is not just a one time

act that brings you to salvation but a

lifelong attitude that keeps you from

deception.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,

Blessed are those who mourn,

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that yoursorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godlymanner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 Forgodly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to

be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.11

For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godlymanner: What diligence it produced in you, whatclearing ofyourselves, whatindignation, whatfear, whatvehementdesire, whatzeal, whatvindication! In all things you provedyourselves to be clear in this matter. 2 Cor. 7:9-11

Diligence: earnestness, carefulness

Clearing of yourselves: transparency

Indignation: anger, much to grieve

Fear: wholesome dread of displeasing God

Vehement desire: a longing for, an earnest

Zeal: a fervent mind(heat), passion

Vindication: to proceed from justice, toavenge NOT revenge
