School Districts and Charter Schools (LEA’s) are invited to apply for grant funding from our statewide PBIS Network www.PBISaz.org for the 2013-2014 school year.

Three-year grants are available to provide Training, Coaching and Evaluation services and to build your capacity to scale up PBIS in your District by providing these services yourselves in the coming years. LEA’s can use grant funds with the service provider of their choice (providing they meet PBISaz Service Provider Criteria) to help you achieve documented PBISaz School Outcome Criteria on which continued funding will be judged.

* The funding for this project comes from the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (ADDPC), and while Year 1 funding has been approved, Years 2 and 3 have only been proposed, and must be approved annually.

In accordance with national PBIS research and evidence, only District/Charter PBIS Teams who bring two School Teams to training are qualified to apply. Individual schools are not eligible. However, if several single school LEA’s collaborate to form a ‘District Team’ with the intent of training other schools/LEA’s within a network, that will be considered.

PBISaz Grant Funds

To demonstrate commitment to a three-year PBIS implementation cycle, LEA’s are expected to use additional funding sources to meet Year 1 expenses for PBIS training/coaching/evaluation. The PBISaz grant is not intended to cover all the expenses required for Year 1 PBIS services, but should cover most of Year 2 and Year 3 costs.

LEAs are able to use grant funds for any of the following expenses:

• Professional fees of the PBIS trainer, coach, evaluator chosen by the LEA.• Travel expenses for each school team to attend training, if required.• Expenses required to hire substitute teachers while team members are away at

training.• Fees associated with purchasing an annual SWIS database licensee from

www.PBISapps.org and purchasing the required facilitator training on SWIS.• Fees associated with entering outcome data into a database and generating reports

as required by the project.• Training materials or other supplies required to participate in the training and technical

assistance.
