newly developed Center for Molecular Medicine.

and the replication of damaged DNA in E. coli and

Postdoctoral Fellowship Molecular Basis of Hormone Action Columbia University A postdoctoral fellowship position is available for
July 1, 1989. Potential ongoing projects to join
include: (1) Studies of post-receptor mechanisms Iof

protein which is the membrane receptor for pertussis
toxin on human T lymphocytes (see Journal

Faculty Position Developmental and Molecular Biology McMaster University
The newly created Institute for Molecular Biology and Biochemistry seeks to build a group composed of
independent, but interactive scientists interested in the molecular biology of development. One tenure track
position is currently available at the assistant professor level. Applications are invited from but not restricted to
individuals with research interests in the regulation of gene expression, the role of oncoproteins in development,

laboratory studying the molecular mechanisms that
control feeding behavior. Approaches include a
molecular analysis of neuropeptides and also a “reverse
genetics” approach to clone mutant mouse genes which
affect feeding. Applicants should have an M. D./ Ph.
D. or Ph. D. Experience with recombinant DNA is
preferred.

Postdoctoral Position Molecular Biology New England Regional Primate Research Center
A postdoctoral position is available to study the
molecular biology of simian immunodeficiency virus
(SIV). Possible projects include:
(1) elucidating molecular mechanisms of SIV
pathogenesis;
(2) identifying factors that regulate viral expression;
(3) studying mechanisms of viral activation in
macrophages.
