INSTITUTE OF PORTUGUESE CULTURE AND LANGUAGEIPLC offers a wide range of courses, aiming to meet the students’

broadest range of interests and needs.The curriculum is organized into two semesters of 200 hours each

(from A1 to C1) and one semester of 224 hours for C2.

ENROLLMENTThe enrollment deadline is 2 weeks

before the Course beginning.The following documents must be

submitted:Enrollment form fully filled in;

› Copy of identification card;› Two passport photos;

› Payment confirmation of enrollment fee.Additional enrollment period during the first

week course upon availability.

PAYMENTUpon enrollment, EU citizens pay 25% of the tuition

fee and non-EU citizens 50% of the fee. The remainder must be paid within the first 3 days

of classes.Registration can be paid by check (to the order of:

ADFLUL - Development Association the Faculty of Arts, University of Lisbon), money or bank transfer.

Students who want an invoice/receipt with tax number in must say so during enrollment or when making any payment.

REMARK: Students must be equal or higher than 17 years old and completed high school education.

Students are placed in the different language proficiency levels according to the results of an assessment test provided by IPLC.

All courses require a minimum number of 8 participants and a maximum of 15.If a student no longer wishes to attend to a course, 50% of the enrollment tuition fee

will be refunded as long as the request for cancel is submitted in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the course beginning. After this, no refund will be available.

Transfer of the enrollment tuition fee to courses of other terms is not allowed.

AFTER-WORK COURSEThis course works on a semestral basis and has a workload of 4 hours per week (18h-20h), for a total of 60 hours per 15-week semester.

ANNUAL COURSERegular courses are held for learning the language and culture, correspondingto the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels.The courses work on a semestral basis (200 hours), allowing for two levels per yearto be attended in two alternative schedules: between 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. or between2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

SUMMER COURSEIn July, August and September IPLC helds monthly summer courses of 80 hours each, corresponding to one CEFR level (from A1 to C2).

ERASMUS COURSEPortuguese Foreign Language (PFL) course is for Erasmus students from the Lisbon University.
