Community Health Options is a nonprofit, member-led health plan, providing comprehensive health insurance benefits to individuals, families, and businesses.

Community Health Options largely relied on third-party software ap-plications to support their opera-tions. These applications caused technical challenges and limita-tions supporting specific business goals and presented many cha-llenges for users, especially those on mobile devices.

We applied a design thinking ap-proach to create a mobile-first de-sign for CHO’s public website and their member portal - including interactive features for provider discovery and account overview dashboard. WCAG 2.1 level AA standards were a project require-ment.

Bend Financial is a Health Savings Account (HSA) technology company that offers tools for consumers and employers to maximize their understanding of various health savings options.

Bend HSA was looking for a design partner that could deliver a differ-entiated & innovative product in a rather homogeneous market with 1000+ players by creating a trust-worthy, approachable experience for consumers.

We led the Bend team through a business model canvas to clarify project drivers and to align strate-gic goals. Our final product offers an experience for the user that is modern, simple, and highly usa-ble.

REPLACING LEGACY SYSTEMS

SMILE TRAINSmile Train is the world’s largest children’s charity that provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates globally.

CHALLENGES SOLUTIONSSmile Train’s reliable patient sys-tem has been globally deployed for nearly 15 years and needed to be replaced by a new version that could be maintained and updated internally, with features that com-plied with data management reg-ulations.

Freeport Metrics audited Smile Train’s legacy system from a security and business perspective to identify the major gaps. Up-to-date source code management, testing, and de-ployment practices addressed se-curity concerns and resolved the se-curity and performance problems. We helped Smile Train extend the life of the current platform by 5 years to allow time to set aside funds for the rebuild-replacement we have now been invited to lead.

Mingle Health helps large and small healthcare providers and medical practices save time, improve their outcomes, and increase their earnings. They have grown, becoming the leader in providing reporting/analytics tools to medical providers complying with the US government’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program which was designed to tie payments to quality and cost-efficient care.

Mingle Health needed responsive inhouse mobile tools that would allow them to occasionally analyze data from mobile devices.

Our pragmatic approach gave their product a responsive mobile data mapping tool, on a fixed deadline. Our experience with HIPAA regula-tions, EHR & Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services systems facilitated the process.

Neoproteomics provides research services and tools that help clients unravel the complexities of pharmaceutical and biological research.

Neoproteomics needed a dev - e l opment partner to improve its core software product by adding a unique data visualization toolset for proteomics analysis.

We implemented custom data vi-sualizations for Neoproteomic’s desktop application. The data visu-alizations enabled Neoproteomics to visualize the results of each of their biomarker experiments - tests that help to drive the discovery of significant markers of disease.
