SUMMARY: WHAT'S HERE

Selected territory is important for city development as a potential inhabitance area yet bad maintained. This thesis was developed as an examplar area for the city redevelopment. After analisys there were found area’s constraints and resources. The big importance was given to make a sense of community

Urban ambience solution was based on the idea of inviting posiible inhabitance into a common game to form sense of community: closing the street for cars, making a pedestrian boulevard with river- and ships-related activities and a bit of nostalgia for USSR times in urban furniture design.*

Chosen design solution represents fl ying birds as a hommage to ‘The Cranes Are Fly-ing’ - a Soviet fi lm about World War II depicts the cruelty of war, and a famous song from it. All the elements of the design were thought inside this concept for the aim of creating slightly nostalgic atmosphere.*
