COVER LETTER Dear Sir or Madam,
As a young architect, I am currently looking for a full-time junior architect position star ting from August 2016. I recently finished my architectural studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, where I specialized in architectural design.
During my studies in Hungar y, I experienced an unusual educational method, as it included an equal amount of architectural and structural design. My favourite par ts were the semester-long design projects, ranging from residential buildings through public and industrial buildings to the level of urban planning. Therefore, I could move from small scale up to the level of streets and small cities. Fur thermore, I also enjoyed work-ing on rehabilitation of historical buildings and urban design. Though I believe my training provides wide knowledge and solid foundation on its own, I always challenged myself with learning more. One example of that, where I explored how the fields of sociology and architecture are connected. I conducted a research where I analyzed the relation between the social network and the type of habitation. This work was awarded the first prize on Scientific Students Association conference of the university.
An influential par t of my life was the time I spent abroad. I studied for a semester in Lyon and worked for a year in Switzerland. Meanwhile, I not only learnt about cultures and architectural styles but also gathered firsthand experience on the impor tance of difference aspects and multicultural environments.
Having seen so many different areas, I grew to appreciate new concepts and quickly adapt to challenges. Even though I star ted working back home, I realized I could learn much more living in a new culture, expe -riencing something new.
Ive always been admiring how the Nordic architecture focuses on creating more sustainable buildings with minimizing our own environmental impact and also on selecting high- quality, but natural materials. I m cer tain that Copenhagen is one of the best places in the world to learn even more about these concepts.
With the hope of a future collaboration, I am looking for ward to your kind reply. Yours sincerely,
Nora Pallay

WORK EXPERIENCE
T1 ARCHITECTS _ 2016
Amongst participating in the design process of multiple smaller residential buildings, Ive been mostly working on the interior design and construction plan of the House of Hun-garian Music, which has been designed by Sou Fujimoto. The construction of the build-ing is about to start and expected to be fin-ished in 2018. My contributions included BIM modeling and rendering of the interior space.
MVT ARCHITECTES SA _ 2014
As an intern at MVT architectes SA at Geneva, I have had the opportunity to participate in vari-ous projects, ranging from architectural design through building authorization to site supervi-sion.
I took part in the following projects:_ maquette of a residential villa on the lakeside of Lac Leman at Chambsy_ the construction plan for extending three villas in Versoix_ driving the entire authorization process of several projects_ interior design for the mvts office_ participating in site supervision of Coppet Municipalitys renovation_ design of an extension for a residential house

THERMAL BATH- House of lights -
Location: Budapest, Hungary_2010Consultants: Zoltn Andr, Norbert Villnyi
This thermal bath has been based on the fol-lowing keywords: house of light and the function of bath. The building is located in the 7th district of Budapest below the Mikszth square and it consists of three floors. Due to its irregular shape, the space of the bath takes zig-zags, which let more private places appear. The walls are divided by strips of colored lenses to capture the natural light coming from the sur-face. The first floor is mostly functional, with dressing rooms and toilets. The pool is located beneath this floor and it is accessible by the ramps. The bathing area extends underneath the ramps. The walls with some parts diving into the water - the zigzaggy space and the light rays give the atmosphere a sense of mystery.
RESIDENTIAL HOUSE_purchased as standard design_
Location: Piliscsaba, Hungary_2010Consultant: Zoltn Andr
This house is settled in a newly constructed suburban neighborhood near Budapest. Due to the close proximity of the neighbors, the house voluntarily introverted. It consists of large surfaces of glass overlooking a central atrium in the house, while outward facade is mostly closed. The house is structured by two main directions, one leads to a private space with bedrooms, while the other leads to public spaces like the living room or the kitchen. These rooms are in the same airspace, divided sym-bolically by fixed furniture and a fireplace. The outdoor connection between the two parts of the house is provided by a terrace in the garden.
PLAYHOUSE
Location: Esztergom, Hungary_2011Cons.: Dont Rabb, Pter Klobusovszki
The playhouse is located along one of the busiest streets of Esztergom. The main points of development were: to be able to open to-gether the playing rooms, to ensure an exit to the garden for each playing room and to make visible contrast between the garden of the nearby church and the outdoor garden of the playhouse by large windows. The deter-mining lines of the interior continue outside defining the layout of the garden as well.
DAIRY
Location: Budars, Hungary_2011Consultant: Katalin Juhari
The building is situated on a land of an Industrial Park of Budars. This field consists of five differ-ent food factories. Each of them is part of the gastronomic park with a common place for buy-ing and consuming sample products. My project focuses on the dairy. It is separated to two units: first the lower functional part covered with wood, with a cloakroom, toilets and restroom... The other part is the main hall, covered with metal. It is the place for processing milk. The development of this structure complies with the regulations for building and operating dairies.
MUNICIPAL LIBRARY
Location: Budakeszi, Hungary_2012Consultant: Pter Sugr, Mikls Vannay
The library is located in the heart of a city with a next to a typical Hungarian town hall. This is a part of a large educational complex in the middle of the city, consisting of a gym, an expansion of an existing elementary school and this library. It serves several functions such as working or studying, but it is also a place to rest as it is opened to all residents of the village. Therefore, to meet the different demands of the users, this building consists of three different parts. The parts are isolated from each other providing a calm space for everyone. The first part with a cafeteria is on the ground floor. The others contain more quiet areas, with several reading boxes in the garden of the library and a reading room on the first floor.

BICYCLIST PENSION & DOCK
Location: Rmai-part, Budapest_2015Consultant: Mikls Jancs
The building is located on the north side of Bu-dapest, on the Danube next to a well-known rec-reation area of Budapest. It replaces an already existing public boat station integrates with a bicycle pension, because not only the boats stop here, but its also located next to the Eurovelo 5 bicycle road. Thus, the buildings main target au-dience is a mixture of bicycle tourers and citizens enjoying the closeness of the river. The building itself is situated on a new pontoon structure due to the frequent and high water level fluctuation of the Danube, thus it can move along the wa-ter level. The interior areas are located as shifted isolated boxes between the main steel structure of the boat. This alignment also creates various common spaces of the house, for example a bi-cycle parking or common kitchen for the pension etc. The layout of the boxes also separates the us-ers of the two distinct functions. An interior de-sign has also been proposed, the storage spaces are adapted to the needs of bikers and also the beds and the table can be moved moved around to make the rooms as comfortable as possible, in spite of the small size.
JRDNYI PL MUSIC SCHOOL- Thesis design-
Location: II. district, Budapest_2016Consultant: Mikls Jancs
The building is planned for the second districts central music school of Budapest, the Jrdnyi Pl Music School. Its current location is not suf-ficient for the schools needs so in the near future it has to be relocated. I devoted my thesis design to provide a real solution for them. As the new location, I picked two opposite empty corner plots. The new location is not just close to the original building, but its surrounded with a cul-tural environment, which is ideal for such build-ings. The building has two main functions: its a school for young musicians, and also a concert hall. Though the two functions are placed on two premises, theyre connected through a bridge. This connection gives opportunity for the school to expand and use the top floor of the other building. The principal keywords at forming the mass and the faade were vividness, playfulness and geometrical rhythmicity. The intention of this was to create an exciting and cool appear-ance for the children where they enjoy going several times a week.
