Product complexity_01copyright
Wouldn‘t it be perfect if copying was simple?
[ 3rd year ]
complex handling
unclear interface
high toner consumption
high rate of incorrect copies
no place for storage
extensive service
different user groups
teamwork with andrea schöllgen and simone wittmann in cooperation with
Puplic devices should be intuitive and easy to use.
Especially copying machines are often highly complex
and hard to understand for non-experts.
Our incentive was to develop a new copying
machine with updated technologies and a simple form language
which guides users with different
proficiencies through the copying process.

In using a 3 line CCD sensor scanner, there are
positive economic improvements for the investor too.
Uniting a simple form language with the latest technologies

through the copying process.
Three service levels guide you through the process.
In each you have the chance to activate the digital
preview, guiding you through every step
and providing the ideal overview.
1. choose number of copies and start
2. change main settings

packaging_02a souvenir for wuppertal
Do you know any souvenirs you would like to buy?
[ 2nd year / short project ]
02_
Culinary specialities are popular souvenirs.Discover this cake-mix as a souvenir for Wuppertal!
Typically „bergisch“ - smart and tasty!Comes in three different flovours!
Team-project with Andrea Schöllgen
Most souvenirs are boring, cheesy or don‘t reflect the character of the city.
Using the integrated bowl, the cake mix is
easy to prepare and can be served in minutes.
Just remove the outer sleeve, add water, stir
and bake - finished!
As a keepsake, you retain the original recipe
sticker to add to your cookbook.

bathroom_ transforming the function from a utility room to a living room
The bathroom is the area for body care. it is a living,
ritualistic space and a room for healthiness too.
It needs to adapt to different situations and fulfill various functions.
My project is based on the problem of arranging
storage to make the bathroom to a living room.

ironing kit
How could ironing look in the near future?
graduation project_08
[ final thesis project 5th year ]
To get a feeling about the current mood of the
people refering of their ironing approach I went out
and did some short interviews and try to capture the
spirit of the time
“ I do not iron! “
short interview
spirit of the time
basic tenor:
Almost everybody dislikes ironing
“ I use a dryer that brings enough stari-ness for me
“ I need to iron a lot, but it isn’t one of my favourit tasks...”
“ I use it for the handle patch”
“I like ironing!” “I ordered my iron online”
“I always watch TED, otherwise it’s to boring”

To get an overview and narrow down the range of
areas I started doing a field research in different
locations, finally focussing on the homesector.

THE MAIN PROBLEMS ARE:
seperate storage•
weight/ transport•
placement/ positioning•
cable length•
(temperature/steam) settings•
water refill•
cooling/ heating•
Visually, ironboards don‘t fit in the living
room context and the complex handling is time intensive and
brings too much restrictions with it.fazit research_main problems and potentials
