Interior design consultant for hospitality and residential projects developing general interior design and custom-made furniture design. The rm has a workshop section where furniture is assembled. My duties include design, budgeting and project supervision for residential refurbishment projects.

Architecture visualisations development for the competition: plaza pública Torres de Tajamar.

Initially carrying a survey on the nancial costs of subcontracted civil works and the feasibility of creating a civil engineering department. This required eective information management and analytical skills. Afterwards, I was part of the London Subway Connect project team studying the most convenient locations for the installation of antennas.

I prepared teenagers for their state exam to gain entrance to Spanish University in technical subjects (Technical Drawing, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) and languages (English and French).Communication skills were very important in my job, as well as organization, patience and listening skills.

Veramonte winery is an organic winery located whithin a vineyard, one hour away from Santiago de Chile, between the Andes Mountains and the Pacic Coast. The winery’s main building is an old

industrial building with very high ceilings and cold materials.

The aim of the project was to create a visitors centre that would reect their commitment to nature and attract visitors to their vineyards.

The approache seeks to introduce a more human scale in the main building that makes it possible for visitors to feel welcome in the huge spaces of the main building and to introduce dierent activities

into those previously underused spaces.

The main hall has two side spaces in which big wooden slabs structures where built to create the sensation of being in a smaller height space by using a wood beam lattice ceiling. Wood was the main material in the project in order to create a warmer sensation. The design was inspired in the industrial presence of the building, taking care of every detail to make it more elegant and attractive for visitors.

One of the side spaces was designed to have a cafeteria and the sales centre. The other one has public and private tasting spaces. Two private dining rooms where also designed following the same ideas,

creating a wood lattice double ceiling that would create the sensation of a lower the height in the rooms making them more welcoming.

All the furniture was custom designed and is currently undergoing the assembly process.

DLA Piper is a leading global business law rm. The Spanish team was originally a local rm, belonging to 5 partners that were

acquired by DLA. They were occupying an oce in a very old and aristocratic building, with high ceilings, moldings and heavy doors. However, the rm started growing and needed to relocate. They wanted to take this opportunity to change the image they conveyed and to demonstrate that, although they are traditional and a very reliable, discreet

and elegant brand, they also innovate and organize themselves in line with the new legal ways of working and trends.

The proposal aims to combine their powerful and professional image of the rm with their cutting edge, global law rm character. DLA is dierent to any other law rm and that should be reected in their workplace design. DLA Piper’s

main focus is a good, open and long lasting relationship with the client. The proposal puts the client at the centre of the design strategy, and making the client feel welcome and secure is the main priority. The central area of the

oorplan is where the client area is located. The entrance and reception are specially important in this project since they create the rst impression the clients have of the rm. The ceiling is a mirrored topographical surface that reects the movements of the oce and creates an unexpected environment. From the reception, visual connection is created throughout the oce, making clients perceivethe whole team is there to work for them. Transparent materials are used

when possible, combined with translucent ones for rooms with condentiality requirements such as directors oces or conference rooms. Iroko wood is used in furniture (which is custom made) and pavements making the oce look

more exclusive and elegant.

Enhancing teamwork is an objective of the project. Unlike more traditional law rms, dierent types of work settings for dierent work positions, are placed together to enable interaction and knowledge sharing between team

members. Phone booths are introduced into open space to minimize acoustic distractions. Shared spaces such as the library, canteen and terrace are designed to make employees feel comfortable at the oce as well as creating the

image of a modern, professional rm.

Madreat is a gastronomic complex that brigs together the dierent strands of the cuinary world. It integrates a hospitality school, student residence hall, gourmet market, greenhouse and an oce

building.

The project involved recicling a large plot which contained degraded industrial buildings. The plot provided a unique opportunity in central Madrid to make a unitary and radical intervention. The aim

was to draw upon the industrial character of the site to create a unique urban landscape within the city. The proposal was conceived as an urban scale hybrid building that could work full time and become

succesfully integrated in the surrounding urban fabric.

The north and south façades are the parts that have a more intense contact with the city. Therefore, on the north side the programs that interact with the existing urban activity are concentrated. A gourmet

market with ready to eat products and an oce tower are located there. The oces are built for companies in the food sector and contain large kitchens and seating areas interspersed in each oor. The program is complemented by two big plazas that integrate seating areas and decongest Cuatro Caminos. The rst is on Reina Victoria Avenue and sets an access to the tower, while the second one includes a large public greenhouse and a cooking material shop. The south façade faces Santander

park, however pedestrian transit is signicantly lower than in the north. A hospitality school is introdu-ced as an activator. The student residence hall is also built in the south façade and has great views

towards the park. A big access plaza forms a transition between the school and the park.

The approach seeks to balance density, and sustainable development of the city complementing the existing city and improving it. It is a city within the city. It minimizes ground oor occupancy to return space to the city as recreation areas to relieve its overcrowded environment. Its façades reect the sky and the surrounding buildings making its presence lighter and less agresive. It is a reinterpretation of

the industrial character of the site that gives back to the city an obsolete area transforming it into a multiple skill intervention.

San Blas rehablocation: San Blas, Madridyear: 2012team: María Iglesias, Théo Canu, Marco Tesmann, Filippo Lafleur, Jorge Enríquez and Elena Sanjuán

The neighborhood of Hellin in the San Blas district, was built as a part of a social housing development plan in 1957. This neighborhood is an example of excess and desertication of

public spaces with oversized walkways and large squares without vegetation, urban furniture or purpose.

Additionally, the land is uneven across the area resulting in height dierences that are countered by the use of ramps and stairs. The homogeneity of the residential typology is only altered by the

commercial heart of the neighborhood in disuse. The typology of the shbone style housing brings its own empty corners sometimes full of garbage and sometimes generating a phenome-

non of ppropriation of spaces on the ground oor on behalf of the neighbors.

The creation of themed activity squares was the initiative chosen to renew the residential fabric and to solve the issues of desertication, residual spaces and the general inactivity of the

neighborhood. A square for skaters and one for entrepreneurs were some of the spaces concei-ved for this purpose. Furthermore, the rehabilitation of the central market, the oce buildings

and the housing was deemed necessary for this same purpose. These spaces will be interlinked by a green ring and bicycle lane whilst all other vehicles will remain at the parking lot in the perimeter of the

neighborhood.

There will be work done on the housing too. Each four house module will be expanded from 675 to 951 square feet a new light structure façade will be built. This will allow houses to have

balconies and will in this way liven up part of the desertied public spaces. This façade will contribute to a feeling of continuity in the streets making the most of residual spaces. The uneven

parts of land will be smoothed with additional vegetation that will also guarantee privacy between terraces in the ground-oor.

Finally, the commercial heart of the neighborhood will be refurbished. The use of installations like those by Andrés Jaque in El Matadero (Escaravox, 2012) will create open-air market spaces where a provisional market could be placed. A special treatment will be given to the land to counter the

height dierences measured above.

Louisiana Art Museum was willing to intensify its relationship with the community by oering alternative ways of experiencing art. The aim was to enable people to experience the work of art since its creation

collaborating in it.

The Museum is located in a meadow with sea views, next to a forest. The old building has a program focused on observation as experience of art. Glazed corridors and galleries reinforce the relationship with

the open landscape that surrounds it and introduce the perception of landscape and views as works of art. The new intervention requires a more intimate atmosphere appropriate for creation. The new

building will be located inside the forest protected by thirty metre high trees that create an intimate environment. The idea is to transform the conceptual dierence between the two buildings in dierent

ways of relating with the surrounding landscape.

The program combines administration areas, indoors and outdoors workshops, auditorium, public cafeteria, library and a semiprivate area with artist dwellings and common areas. The main space is a

patio which articulates the program remaining as the main core and a controlled outdoor area.

Dwelling area is divided in fragments that house small private units with open views to the forest. Individual sleeping and working spaces are included in each unit. The entrance to units takes place

through transition spaces that can be either included to private areas or added to the expansible corridor conceived as a common living space. Common cooking, eating, working and relaxing areas complete the

dwelling units promoting relationship between artists.

The circulation pattern is continuous and melts into programmatic spaces establishing relationships between them. Flexibility was the main premise for spaces, in order to make it possible to adapt to

dierent situations depending on the conditions required. Therefore mobile surfaces are used to either divide or combine working spaces, and to modify permeability towards the forest.
