Stage director Nicola Zorzi, a native of Verona, Italy, is rocketing to the top of his field. Known for his distinctive and intellectual interpretations, Zorzi knows how to get to the heart of the drama and leave an audience

breathless.

Mr. Zorzi has carefully honed his craft as an assistant director under such operatic geniuses as Robert Carsen, Graham Vick, Hugo de Ana, Pier’Alli, Georgio Gallone, Marco Gandini, Denis Krief, Giuliano Montaldo and Gigi Proietti in the world’s most renowned houses.

Undoubtedly his greatest collaboration has been with the legendary opera and film director, Franco Zeffirelli. Mr. Zorzi has been entrusted by Mr. Zeffirelli to remount beloved stagings of Aida, Tosca, Turandot, Carmen and Don Giovanni.

Recently, Mr. Zorzi has taken the helm and directed his own, new productions of Rigoletto, Norma, Lucia di Lammermoor, Madama

Butterfly, Turandot and Nabucco to critical and audience acclaim across Europe.

Mr. Zorzi holds a Faculty of Philosophy in DAMS and Theatre Studies from Bologna University. His brilliant theses were on “Theatre Lighting From Its Origins To Nowadays” and “Lighting Methods For Open-Air Venues”. He also completed further studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona in “Theatre Interior Scenography and Decoration”.
