Jacks memoir Awakening flame Holy moly! I yell as I yell in
frustration as I slip on my now stinging back side on to the
dripping wet, wood and leaves fallen from the canopy of the trees
surrounding the forest. The forest and all its trees and logs
supply dry fire wood for our open fire at overnight camp. I lift a
relatively large log the wet surface of the bark made it hard for
me to lift but still I lift with all my strength in my body, I get
it high enough to say to my friend Tyran is there any under this
one, the veins in my neck now feel as if they were about to pop and
splat everywhere and my body was almost at breaking point ready to
faint. We are now having turns at blowing the red hot, siring
embers, the heat coming from the embers are intense the heat
rebounding off the logs and hitting you like a angry bully wanting
you money, BINGO Tyran hits the mother lode and makes a small yet
burning hot flame we celebrate with cooking our dinner. Tyran and
Cam the excellent sausage cooks were at it again trying to make
some awesome kiwi tucker, Connor and Rhys were the noodle cooks
trying to make a good tasty Chinese meal, and last but not least
Jayme and I were trying to cook our potatoes as an Irish dinner. As
our very successful fire is now dying down to dark, burnt ashes.
Rhys runs rapidly to the trees and grass, takes handfuls of
greenery and troughs it on to the embers they burn but dont light
the smoke runs down our thoughts like a cheetah, down, down, down
in to our very fragile lungs. Our throats hurt for days on end but
the thought of fun things relieve the pain By Jack Jellyman
