How fortunate are we to be associated with Rangers?

Just look at the football pathways Rangers provides...be it BDSFA, SAP, MPYL, MPL, WSL, Futsal or AWD ’special needs’ all your foot-ball needs are here at this little ‘gem’ in Western Sydney. A great family club choc full of passionate football people providing opportu-nities locally for our youth. Without these Rangers pathways many would potentially be lost to the World Game.

Spectators sit sheltered from the elements as our gifted players entertain us on what we @POP believe to be one of the best fields in FNSW, we enjoy a quality feed & use the clubhouse amenities that are as good as any.

As Rangers go from strength to strength, overcoming all the obstacles before us we should not forget the foundation members & all they have provided. We were fortunate enough to hear from life member & Councilor Charlie Lowles at the 2013 Season Launch @Saints; he no doubt ‘encouraged’ so many great developments @Popondetta; we had another club pioneer in Joe Martin drop into our Season 2012 launch; to name but a few, add in Andy McLean; who the grandstand is named after; his daughter Dot Platt, the McColloch’s (son Tommy played for Australia), of more recent times Greg Dobbie our current Pres. Mark ‘Robbo’ Robertson they, & many others, have all paved the way fto create what we enjoy today… since 1970 there has been but one constant & that is Blacktown Council, BCC has always been there, providing the fields, infrastructure, maintenance, mowing, water-ing etc, etc.

As Rangers head towards the tail end of its’ first season with a full FNSW ‘pathways’ program our Men’s YL lead the Club Championship for the 3rd successive season. It’s by no accident or co-incidence that since 2007 Rangers YL has won the Club Championship three times, been 2nd three times & 3rd once!

All our 2013 YL teams are in contention for finals.

Just take a minute & think about what it would take to start again, to ‘build’ what we have @Popondetta—simply, as a volunteer club you couldn’t do it today. Yes, POPondetta is a gem, indeed it’s a diamond in the rough!

As we all reflect on this milestone season @POP hopes you’ve all made great memories & if fortunate enough to be a Ranger again for Season 2014, consider what YOU can do to assist in the club operations to ensure future generations have the same opportunities to create their great memories… Rangers certainly is a grand old team to play for…

Just when you thought our SAPpers were all rock-starred out for season 2013 along comes the Hyundai A-League Foxtel All Stars just to nudge the opportunities bar a little higher! Yes, off trotted our SAPpers to a specially convened Gala event where they played in front of the All Stars & then watched the HAL All Stars train & collected a few signatures along the way. Hopefully another great lot of memories for our Rangers SAP squads. It was great to hear the positive feedback from those that attended the Rangers School Holiday Training Clinic in Jun/Jul… there will be another in the Sept/Oct holidays. Also, the SAP End of Season Presentation is being finalised, so look out for that one. Enjoy...

Now deep in the 2nd half of our inaugural WSL season @POP can’t help but notice how far our Ladies teams have come. Their impact on the Rangers club has been very positive & the vibe at training & on game day is great. It does-n’t just happen—Taryn Rockall, Sandy McPartland & all involved in setting up, packing up, coaching, managing etc YOU have all made this season a winner irre-spective of results. And there is nothing wrong with the results—Q: who would have imagined in Season #1 seeing Rangers mid table in the Club Champi-onship? A: not many! So massive effort guys [unisex term] well done.

Always in search of potential stars, it’s no surprise to see Taryn fill her Friday’s through July/August by conducting a Rangers Girls 10 Week Training Clinic — a fantastic initiative & the response has been great. This is sure to lead to full house for SAP & Girls trials…. Enjoy

Wunderbah - simply an impressive month in anyone's language....a quick look through the Youth League results paints a pretty convincing picture & all @POP are right-fully very proud — 20 YL games, 17 wins, 1 draw & just 2 losses. Both the u14 & u15’s locked up their leagues with 3 rounds to play, u12 [4th] & u13’s [2nd] also look Finals bound. Rangers lead the YL CC by 21pts with 36pts up for grabs! The most impressive aspect is the style of football being played— sound, curriculum based football - joga bonito! Speaking Portuguese, all @POP wish Carlos Ribiero well on his venture to Sporting Lisbon, with John Roberts heading over next season.

Rangers youth policy is certainly taking affect in the Senior program, the 16’s [1st] & 18’s [2nd] are promot-ing Youth League players weekly, while 16’s & 18’s are seeing plenty of game time & contributing to the 20’s [5th] & 1sts turn of form.
