Liturgical Publications
From Father Zach
Linkage Update. This fall the Linkage Committee, Pastoral Councils and Liturgy
committee have been working hard on discussing the progress of our linkage.
What we are finding is that the communities have more things in common than
what differs. We are starting to create an understanding of what is a balance in a
linked community. The weekend of All Soul’s is a great example of how the
communities worked together, it wasn’t just the Holy Day Mass schedule but in
that weekend alone there were 10 activities that took place between the two
communities.
Where are we at? Simply we are still growing in our understanding of being the
linked communities of Christ the King and Pope John’s. The discussion with the
Linkage committee and Pastoral Councils, we are going to move to one bulletin
starting in February. It has been noted by many people the parishes are sharing
more activities about 90% of the material is either the same or similar in both
bulletins. To better use our resources we are going from a 3 page bulletin for
each parish to an 8 page bulletin. To celebrate our Linkage next September we
are going to be creating a directory for both parishes. If you would like to be a
part of that committee please contact Fr. Zach.
We are sharing Christmas Masses and they are posted in each Church. With the
Christmas excitement the 10:30 PM Mass will feature the combined Choirs of
Christ the King and Pope John XXIII.
The Christmas Mass Schedule is the following:
Christmas Eve:
4:00 PM Mass at Christ the King and Pope John XXIII
6:30 PM Mass Christ the King
10:30 PM Pope John XXIII
Christmas Day:
9:00 AM Christ the King
10:30 AM Pope John XXIII
As we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King this weekend, we also celebrate in
thanksgiving for all the blessings that Christ has given us. Please join the
communities of Christ the King and Pope John XXIII in celebrating what we are
grateful for. Tuesday, Christ the King will have an ”Attitude of Gratitude”
service followed by a pizza dinner and on Wednesday Evening at 6:30 PM
Pope John’s will have a Mass of Thanksgiving

A BIG thank you from Birthright to all the parishioners who so
generously donated to the Fall Baby Shower held the last weekend of
October at Christ the King and Pope John XXIII. We collected 8 cases
and 16 packages of diapers for a total of 1,374 diapers. We collected 2
cases and 48 packages of baby wipes for a total of 4, 390. We also got
receiving blankets, plush blankets, fleece throws, crocheted blankets and
a beautiful handmade quilt. We added bath towels, washcloths, bottles,
bibs, onesies in assorted sizes, pacifiers, formula, handmade burp cloths
crocheted and knitted hats, sleepers in various sizes, outfits, 2 snowsuits,
1 winter jacket and assorted toys to our inventory. There was baby wash,
baby food and deodorant for the moms. We feel quite blessed.

FORMED.ORG - Update
Many of you have enjoyed using FORMED (www.formed.org) the online library
of films, videos, books and more about our faith. This is a free service for you and
anyone you care to share it with, underwritten by the parish.
Two important changes:
1) As a result of our linkage - and because Pope John XXIII is also a subscriber
- we will be sharing this sponsorship going forward. Our new/revised parish
login code is: XJJC8K. Use this code to register as a user and access all of
the FORMED content.
2) The FORMED platform is undergoing exciting changes, making it easier to
use and offering content that’s easier to access and share.
Go to www.formed.org to experience this wonderful faith resource.
