Port of Melbourne (PoM) Online Induction Instructions 

 

Login using either Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome as your internet browser 

 

If you have previously created an account in the system login via this page.

If you are a new user you are required to self – register. To register click on the grey txt for new 

users (circled red).You will then be directed to the self‐register webpage. 

 

 

   

If you are a first time user once you have clicked on the link you will be taken to the following 

webpage. Fill in your details and type in Site Only in the Code field (shown below). 

 

 

Following registration you will be sent an email with a link. Click on the link in the email which will 

then log you in to the system (as shown below). Enter you details and then click on the green 

Continue button.

 

You will then be directed to your own dashboard screen as shown below. Click on the Site Only 

learning path text below the open book symbol. 

 

 

You will then be directed to the Site Only learning path (show below). There are four modules that 

make up the learning path. You need to work through the modules sequentially to unlock the next 

module. Start with Introduction to PoM – Site Specific Induction to commence. Click on either the 

Start this learning path green button of the Introduction to PoM – Site Specific induction txt. 

 

When you come to the end of the first module click on the green NEXT button on the top right hand 

corner of your screen. Navigate through the pages in sequential order and read the content. 

 

 

You will now go back to your dashboard. Click on the next module Port of Melbourne – site 

induction summary or the Continue this learning path green button. 

 

This will take you to the screen below. Once you have completed this module click on the green 

NEXT button in the top right hand corner of your screen. 

 

 

You will now return to the dashboard where you need to click on the third module text Introduction 

to Port of Melbourne – Site Induction Declaration or click on the Continue the learning path green 

button. 

 

Once you have completed this module click on the CONTINUE or green NEXT button in the right 

hand corner of your screen. 

 

 

You will then be directed back to your dashboard. Click on the first drop down below the Maritime 

Security Awareness Training text ‘Maritime Security Awareness Training’ or the Continue the 

learning path green button..  

 

You will then be directed to the page below. Click on the grey text titled Click here for external 

Maritime Security Awareness Training. You will now be directed to an external webpage to 

complete the training.  

 

 

The link will direct you to the below webpage. Click on the Start course button.  Please note that this 

is an Australian Government managed training module. 

 

Work your way through the training and complete the assessment at the end of the training.  

 

 

You now need to get your Certificate. Click on the Get Certificate button as shown below.  If you 

were unsuccessful you will need to try again. 

 

 

You need to enter your own details in the certificate then press the Download certificate button. 

 

A copy of the certificate is shown below. Save a copy of your certificate for upload to PoM’s system. 

 

 

Once you have your certificate go back to PoM’s induction and press the green NEXT button in the 

right hand corner of the screen.  

 

You will then be directed to the page below where you need to upload your saved Maritime Security 

Awareness certificate. Click on the UPLOAD NOW button. 

 

 

You will then be directed to the page shown below. Choose your certificate file (Choose a file) and 

click on SUBMIT button. 

 

You will then be directed to the page below. Click on the DONE button or the green NEXT button in 

the top right hand button of the screen. 

 

 

You will now go back to your dashboard which will show 75% complete. At this stage PoM needs to 

confirm that you have uploaded your maritime security certificate correctly which may take up to 24 

hours. Log out using the green circle dropdown in the right hand corner of the screen and check in to 

the system at a later point. 

 

When you log in to the system, if your certificate has been marked and passed you will see the green 

circle surrounding the 1 which shows completed. To download a copy of your PoM induction 

certificate click on the Achievements text in the top left hand corner of the screen. 

 

 

You will then be directed to this page. Click on the green text Download certificate next to the Site 

Only text.  

 

You will then receive a copy of your PoM induction certificate on screen.
