Whatisit?PollEverywhereisasimpleapplicationthatworkswellforliveaudiencesusingawebbrowserormobiledevices(e.g.smartphones,tablets,laptops,etc.).Peopleparticipatebyvisitingamobile-friendlywebpageforyourcourse,sendingtextmessages,orusingTwitter(onlyifyouenableit–Twitterisnotenabledbydefault).Instructionsforhowparticipantsrespondtothepollquestionaredisplayedonscreen.Apollquestionthatisembeddedwithinthepresentationorwebpagewillupdateinrealtime.

ConfigurationSettingsConfigurehowyourparticipantswillrespondtoyourpolls.Inthisexample,theycanrespondviathemobileapp(notanoptioninthisscreenshot,buttrustme,itworks)andtextmessaging.Twitterisuncheckedsotheywouldnotbeabletorespondthatway.Now,configurehowmanytimestheywillbeabletorespond.Thedefaultis1time(whichmeanstheycannotchangetheirvoteonceitisregistered).Youcanalsoallow‘everybody’orjust‘registeredparticipantsonly’to

FAQWhatifPollEverywherePresenterisnotonthemachine(orIdon’tseethetabinPowerPoint?)PollEverywherePresenterisanadd-intoolthatwasinstalledonthelecterncomputersin227,106,429,&527onbothMacandPC.InPowerPointonthePC,youshouldseeatabintheribboncalledPollEverywhere.(SeeImage1below).Ifyoudonotseeit,PollEverywherePresenterhasnotbeeninstalled.YouwillhavetopresentyourpollquestionsfromthePollEverywherewebsite.Image1-PCIfyouhavealreadyinsertedyourpollslide(s)onanothercomputer,yousimplyneedtologin,notinsertapollslide.Ifyouhavenotalreadyinsertedyourpollslide(s),youcandoitonthelecterncomputerbyselectingInsertPollSlide.
