Re murder of Maria Cook and her infant daughter, "ear Edenhope,—A warrant has been issued by the

Hamilton Bench, for the arrest of Eobert Cook, on a charge of having murdered Maria Cook and Louisa Jane Sugers Langley, I t is doubtful whether the description previously given of Eobert Cook is correct, there beiag a difference of opinion as to whether he walked lame or not. People who knew him well, and can be best relied on, say he had a peculiar stitt' way of walking, and was in the habit of throwing one shoulder back, and was tattooed on one arm. The waggon he left Mount Gambler in was a light American with four wheels, and had a canvas cover, —0, 4481, 13th September, 1884,

MURDER, See W. A. Police Gazette, 18S4, page 146.

Be murder of Maria Cook and her infant daughter, near Edenhope.—A warrant has been issued by the

Hamilton Bench, for the arrest of Robert Cook, on a charge of having murdered Maria Cook and Louisa Jane Sugers Langley. I t is doubtful whether the description previously given of Robert Cook is correct, there being a difference of opinion as to whether he walked lame or not. People who knew him well, and can he best relied on, say he had a peculiar stiff way of walking, and was in the habit of throwing one shoulder back, and was tattooed on one arm. The waggon he left Mount Gambler in was a light American with four wheels, and had a canvas cover. — 0 , 4481, 13th September, 1884.

Extract from Queensland Police Gazette, September 13th, 18s4.

Information is requested concerning George Gibson (at the instance of his father H. Gibson, Merivale Street, South Brisbane), who was last heard of in Dalby, in the mouth of April last, and was then employed by a publican named Keegan. It is said he engaged with a stockman about that time to go North. From enquiries made by the Police, it appears he left Dalby, on the Srd May last, stating he was going to South Brisbane, and is said to have been seen at Rosewood, on the 17th of same month, and a report was subsequently circulated that he died in Ipswich, but no record of it can be found. Description: 20 years of age, Sft. 7in. high, slight build, fair complexion, dark blue eyes, full lips, brown curly hair, may have a short beard. His photograph, which was taken four years ago, is filed at the Detective Office, Brisbane.
