Idaho’s Workforce is Aging
Median age of Idaho’s workforce is 39.8 years.
Unemployment rate of Idahoans ages 55-64 is 3.3%.
36% of state employees are 52 years+.
Average age of state employees is 47.
37.9% of all Idaho state employees are currently eligible or will be eligible to retire within 8 years.

Increase statewide enrollment of mature adults in post-secondary education courses and other life-long learning opportunities.
Make the State of Idaho a model employer for mature adults.
Ensure all Idahoans are knowledgeable about opportunities for mature adults to remain in or reenter the workforce.
