POLARON Semi-recessed




POLARON, from German manufacturer Trilux, represents a continuing refinement of

the balance between light and its source in a system that offers optimum visual comfort

while artfully supplementing design-oriented architecture.

Its circular body shapes the emitted light, illuminating in all directions. The translucent

luminaire distributes light gently, softly, without glare. Freeing the weightlessness of light

from the heaviness of form, POLARON enters the architectural dialogue with graceful

restraint.

POLARON offers diversity of form and lighting effects with its pendant, surface-

mounted, semi-recessed, and recessed luminaires in a range of sizes with multiple lamping

options.

Variations.

POLARON was designed for all interiors – offices, hotels, restaurants, retail

environments – where light and luminaires are used to create a sophisticated ambience.

The POLARON fixture is available in two diameters – 11-inch and 14-inch. The 14-

inch diameter fixture is available in one-lamp (1x40W T5 or 1x55W T5) and two-lamp

(2x40W T5) versions. The 14-inch two-lamp fixture is deeper than the one-lamp version to

accommodate the second lamp.

POLARON may be mounted in four ways – pendant, surface, semi-recessed or

recessed – providing a wide range of application options for specifiers. The 14-inch

1x22W fixture is available in pendant- and surface-mount only.

A design element, both on and off.

Even when switched off, POLARON blends in stylishly, providing a subtle and pure design element.

Color and illustration options.POLARON ships standard in white powder coat paint. To add color, POLARON metal components may be painted in a

range of RAL colors. Fixtures will be painted by Trilux in Germany and will result in extended lead times. Consult the factory for

minimum quantities and lead times.

The center of a POLARON fixture may have a decal applied to reinforce branding or other messages with customer

provided artwork. Solid-color vinyl decals may be used to add color to the fixture without painting it. Consult the factory about

the process, lead times, and pricing for creating the vinyl decals.

The metal pan in the POLARON Recessed mount was painted red to complement the color scheme of the lounge.

Decals were applied to the center of the POLARON Surface fixtures with photographs and the logo of a sports team.

The simple design of POLARON enables specifiers to apply it in many different ways

in a wide range of settings – offices, retail, hospitality, education, and even residential.

POLARON can provide primary lighting for a space or be used as an accent to provide

Product details.

• Clean, simple design; elemental circular architectural form

• Circular body emits the light in all directions without glare

• Surface, semi-recessed and recessed fixtures are ADA compliant (except 2x40W surface fixture)

CONSTRuCTION Fixture body is constructed of die-cast aluminum. Mounting enclosures made of drawn aluminum with steel brackets.

FINISH Body finish is white powder coat.

SHIELDING Circular diffuser is poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) with a primary ring shield of steel.

ELECTRICAL 120V or 277V. Integral electronic ballast.

MOuNTING Surface fixture mounts to hard or grid ceiling over standard octagonal junction box. Housings and mounting plates are available for semi-recessed and recessed versions. Pendant fixture is supplied with a fully adjustable 72-inch aircraft cable.

**Recessed fixture does not provide light onto the adjacent surface wall.
