Reader Boost Camp

The Cuyahoga County Public Library will be hosting an exciting opportunity for BCSD students. Beginning on March 3, the Brook Park Branch will be hosting a Reader Boost Camp for students struggling with their reading skills. This program is open to students in Grades 1 through 3 along with their parents/caregivers.

Participants will need to attend each week of this four-week series. Each session is a two-part program of information and fun! For the first part, parents go separately with a classroom teacher to learn tips for working with their child at home, while children remain with the librarian for fun reading-based activities. During the second part, families participate together.

Registration is required and is very limited. This program is free of charge and is offered on Saturday mornings at 10 AM on March 3, 10, 17, and 24 at the Brook Park Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library at 6155 Engle Road.

A great big THANK YOU to all those who participated in the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. We raised over $13,000 for the American Heart Association! Prizes will be delivered to the school at the end of March. Great job, BPM!

Destination Imagination Tournament

We would like to show our support for the students in our district who are participating in the Destination Imagination Tournament this Saturday, March 3 at Beachwood High School. There are four elementary teams, one middle school team, and two high school teams who are competing in this challenging program.

The teams have worked hard for many months to develop their solutions and presentations to complex challenges. We are proud to have these students represent the Berea City School District in this creative problem solving competition. Thank you also to the team managers, parents, and volunteers who have helped Mrs. Silvestro offer this program to our students.
