During his three-day visit to Germany, Prime Minister met German Chancellor Angela Merkel and important business leaders of the country. The Prime Minis- ter met top German business leaders in Hannover and told them about steps being taken by his government to ensure the ease of doing business in India. The Prime Minister out- lined the steps at a roundtable where the business leaders shared their views on how to improve the ease of doing business in the country, followed by one-on-one meetings. In the evening, PM Modi along with Chancellor Merkel, inaugurated the Hannover Messe, where India was the Partner country for the year 2015. The inauguration marked showcasing of Indian living culture, along with India’s technical advancements. 'India Pavilion' was also inaugurated by the two leaders. The two leaders addressed the Hannover Fair Business Summit, which focused on the possibili- ties for promoting trade and industrial cooperation between India and Germany. He also unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Han- nover. In Berlin, the two leaders had detailed talks with the focus on how Germany can work with India in its developmental agenda. They held discussions on various aspects of bilateral relations and international issues of mutual interest at their official talks. The Prime Minister visited a railway station in Berlin amid the government's agenda of modernising railways. Chancellor Angela Merkel said that her country is ready to support India on the latter's path towards economic prosperity, adding that the two nations stand 'shoulder to shoulder'.     Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Germany from April 12

    in India' campaign. During his three-day visit to Germany,

    Prime Minister met German Chancellor Angela Merkel and

    important business leaders of the country. The Prime Minis-

    In Berlin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ad-

    dressed the Indian Diaspora at a community

    reception in Berlin hosted by India's ambas-

    sador to Germany Vijay Gokhale. He stressed

    on India's need to become world's manufac-

    turing hub and said that it is not just eco-

    nomic but a matter of pride and dignity.

    He also mentioned that Indians are experts at

    giving our own touch to things stressing at

    Indias acumen of innovation. He said that the

    Indian youth has ashtonished the world in IT

    revolution and it is the demand of our times

    that India become a manufacturing hub to

    continue on the road to development. Focus-

    sing on the Indian diaspora settled in Germany, he sent out the message that although the color of their

    passport might be different but that doesnot change their relationship with India.

    11 pacts signed between India, Germany at Hannover fair

    Indian companies including HMT and Essel Group have signed 11 MoUs

    with German firms that will help boost foreign fund inflows as well as

    domestic manufacturing, Parliament was informed today.

    The pacts were signed last month at the Hannover trade fair. Prime

    Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had inau-

    gurated the fair in Germany last month. "These Memorandum of Under-

    standings (MoUs) are expected to increase FDI flows to India, bring in

    new technology, help growth of manufacturing sector and create em-

    ployment opportunities in the country thereby boosting its economy,"

    Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

    Jet Airways gets into code share with airberlin

    Jet airways has entered into a code share agreement with Germany's

    second largest airl ine, airberlin, from April 2015.

    "With Germany established as India's largest trading partner in Europe

    and eighth largest foreign investor in India, we are confident that these

    flights will prove to be popular amongst travellers between India and

    Germany, not only for business purposes but tourism as well," Jet air-

    ways said. According to the company, the code share agreement will see

    Jet Airways placing its code (9W) on airberlin's (AB) daily flights to

    Berlin (TXL) and Dusseldorf (DUS) from gateway point Abu Dhabi. Cur-

    rently, Jet Airways operates 12 daily services to Abu Dhabi from 11

    Indian cities. At present, Jet Airways has 21 code share partners and

    over a 100 interline partners.

    EEPC India inks pact with German body for promotion of SMEs

    To boost business ties between India and Germany with particular em-

    phasis on the SME sector, engineering exporters' body EEPC India has

    signed an agreement with the German Association for Small and Medium

    -sized Businesses (BVMW) . The MoU was signed at the Hannover Messe

    on April 13. As per the agreement, EEPC India and BVMW will exchange

    information on economic and commercial matters - trade, investment

    and technology transfer opportunities as well as trends. The two organi-

    sations will provide and facilitate assistance to visiting delegations to

    promote their business missions. Moreover, in order to substantiate and

    add value to the B2B portal launched by EEPC India, BVMW will put in

    best possible efforts to fix meetings for the Indian companies with Ger-

    man counterparts.

    Welspun Renewables inks pact with Germany's iPLON

    Welspun Renewables today said it has signed an agreement with Germany

    -based iPLON for supplying equipment required for its 550 MW upcom-

    ing solar power capacity in India. Welspun Renewables is working to-

    wards achieving its green energy commitment of 11,001 MW. It has set a

    target of commissioning over 1 GW of solar and wind capacity within this

    fiscal. IPLON will offer its power plant automation system, plant analysis

    tools, telemetry systems and central monitoring systems required by

    Welspun Renewables to manage their large portfolio of projects. The MoU

    was signed on the sidelines of Hannover Messe.

    Indias Essel teams up with 3 German cos for smart cities plan

    Indian business conglomerate Essel Group has inked technology transfer

    pacts with three German firms for its solar, wind and waste-water man-

    agement projects at home. The Indian company and FeCon GmbH, part of

    Germanys Wind and Sun Technology GmbH, have signed a memorandum

    of understanding (MoU) for the transfer of critical wind and solar technol-

    ogy. The agreement calls for FeCon to help Essel develop and locally

    manufacture wind turbines along with power plant and grid equipment

    for both solar and wind projects to fit domestic conditions. In the mean-

    time, Essel has agreed a similar pact with Passavant Energy and Environ-

    ment (PE&E) GmbH for large-scale waste-water treatment projects in

    India. This deal will give the company access to technologies and proc-

    esses in municipal wastewater, sludge, water and industrial wastewater

    treatment. Essel said that the third deal is with Schneider Electric SE, but

    did not disclose any further details. All contracts were signed during the

    Hannover Messe 2015 trade fair in Germany. Essel, which focuses on

    building integrated and sustainable smart cities, aims to hit 12,500 MW

    and 4,000 MW of installed solar and wind capacity in India, accordingly.

    IMF predicts India will hit 7.5 % growth

    The International Monetary Fund forecast Indias growth to strengthen

    from 7.2 per cent in 2014 to 7.5 per cent in both 2015 and 2016, over-

    taking Chinas growth for the first time since 1999 that it

    projected will slow down to 6.8 per cent.

  • Open House at CGI Frankfurt

    On 24 April, CGI Frankfurt organised an Open House for the Indian students from the four

    states under its Consular jurisdiction. Consul General Raveesh Kumar in his Opening Re-

    marks urged the students to be a associated with the Consulate as well as amongst each

    other and be aware of the responsibilities they carry as the brand ambassadors of India.

    Mr. Visvatez Repakula from Porsche Motors, Stuttgart and Ms. Namrata Gaekwad from Tata

    Consultancy Services, Frankfurt gave presentations on how to find jobs in German market

    and adjust to the local culture. Representatives from the real estate sector were also pre-

    sent to advise students on finding accommodation in Germany.

    The next event will be held in October.
