Theories of development can help caregivers understand how to best work with children. Some of the most prominent theories include the eight stages of Piaget’s cognitive development theory and the four stages of Piaget’s cognitive development theory. Vygotsky claimed that children learn through social and cultural expression. Gardner cultural expression. Gardner developed a theory of multiple intelligences used by the human brain. All these theories provide insight into children’s development.
