World Championships 2017 The Board of FEIF did receive one application for the World Championships 2017, from The Netherlands. The FEIF Event Committee will review the application and prepare for a visit to the proposed location, in order to advise the Board. The application has to meet the Rules and requirements for organisers, as published on the FEIF Website. The application will not be honoured automatically: the final decision about the allocation of the World Championships 2017 will be taken before December 31, 2013.
Research into the pace gene Does DMRT3 also have an influence on tölt? A research team from the SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) is looking for Icelandic horses for a study about tölt ability. They are mainly looking for Icelandic horses with breeding assessment ? and especially horses that were difficult to put into tölt but also horses that were easy to put into tölt, to see if the genotype for DMRT3 has any effects. The team is especially interested in horses from two four-gaited parents. Committee meetings in Malmö The Board of FEIF and the different committees will meet in the weekend of October 25 - 27, 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Board and the department committees for Breeding, Sport, Education, Youth Work and Leisure Riding will meet to prepare for the Annual Meetings during the FEIF Conference 2014. The Sport Judges Committee and the FEIF Event Committee will meet as well. There will be a special meeting for WorldFengur Registrars. At several moments, all committees will meet together to discuss items of common interest and to report about developments in the different departments.
