“To Serve This Present Age”

G od took you away to ease your pain. Mother, you are

at peace now.

Thank you Mother Love Your Children

Last Request

Please don’t say that I gave up, just say that I gave in.

Don’t say I lost the battle, for it’s God’s war to lose or win.

Please don’t say how good I was, but that I did my best.

Just say that I tried to do what’s right, to give the most I could, not less.

Please don’t give me wings or halos, that’s for God to do.

I want no more than what I deserve, no extras, just my due.

Don’t be concerned with me now. Don’t talk about what could have

been. It’s over and done.

Just see to all my family’s needs; The battle has been won. When you draw a picture of me, don’t draw me as a saint.

I’ve done some good, I’ve done some wrong.

So use all your paint.

Not just the bright and light tones, use some grey and dark.

In fact, don’t put me down on canvas, paint me in your heart.

Don’t remember all the good times, but remember all the bad.

For life is full of many things, some happy and some sad.

But if you must do something, then I have one last request.

Forgive me for the wrongs I’ve done, and with the love that’s left

Thank God for my soul’s resting.

Thank God for all who loved me,

Praise God who loved me best.

Love,

En Jean Mom

E mma Jean Lee was born March 3, 1944 to the late Peter Young and Kelly Lee-Frazier in Docene, Alabama. On

Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2016, Emma transitioned from this world to a life of eternal peace.

Formally educated in the Alabama School System, she attended Brookside Elementary and Hooper City High School in Bir-

mingham, Alabama. As a young girl, Emma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.

In her early adult years, Emma relocated to New York City, where she would raise her children. In 1976, she relocated from

Queens, New York, settling her home in Buffalo, New York.. Emma was gainfully employed at various jobs.

Emma loved playing BINGO, playing cards, listening to music and most importantly, spending time with all of her loved ones.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Young and Kelly Lee-Frazier; one sister, Shirley Ann; and two brothers,

Anfonza and Kenny.

The memory of Emma Jean will continue to live on through the life of her children: Bridgette Lee, Lester Lee, Valerie Lee,

Sylvia Lee-Haskins, Annette Lee, Eyvette “Poochie” Lee and Felicia “Rainey” Lee;

Siblings: Dean, May, Sharon, Tina, Kathy, William, Jerry, Reed and

Anthony;

Twenty grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and host of

nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

EXPRESSIONS OF GRATITUDE

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair,

perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so we saw it there,

perhaps you spoke the kindest words as anyone would

say, perhaps you were not there at all but thought of us

this day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we

thank you so very much.

W ords can’t explain how I’m

feeling now. I Love

You. You was like anoth-

er mother to me. Grandma, you took me in,

good & bad times and regardless of what I did,

I could always come back to you. Grand-

ma, you never let me down. Your love was

real. Grandma, we will meet again.

Nina

Will the tears ever dry? I ask that as

I wipe my eyes. I’m told “In

time,“ but I don’t think so. I was-

n’t ready to let you go. You are

forever in my heart.

Kim

Shawn

It seems unreal that you are
