Playgrounds UK is one of the UK’s leading safety surfacing and playground installation companies. Es-tablished in 1999 to provide a high quality, cost effective safety surface installation service to the play industry, we are now considered to be experts in safety surfacing. Operating out of our Winchester and Chester offices we provide a UK-wide service for all your safety surfacing and playground needs.Playgrounds UK is part of the Creative Play group, which itself has over 25 years’ experience in the playground industry.

We do not subcontract. We only use our own highly trained installation teams (therefore guarantee-ing quality on each project) and allowing us to respond rapidly to any project, anywhere in the UK.

All our Installation Team Managers have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry.

All our installations meet British and European Safety Standards BS EN 1176, 1177 and 7188.Our surfacing is guaranteed for 5 years.

Wetpour playground surfacing is a continuous in-situ laid surface comprising of rubber granules bound together with polyurethane resin. It provides an all-weather playground surface that is smooth andsuitable for wheelchair and less mobile users.

Playfall Wetpour characteristics ensure that it is not only an excellent choice for playground surfacing but also gives playgrounds enhanced play value with fun and educational graphics.

MIGHTY MULCHResin Bound Rubber Surfacing

Mighty Mulch safety surfacing is a durable bonded rubber playground mulch that is made from recycled rubber and designed to resemble natural woodchip - ideal where a natural appearance is required.

The unique bonded Rubber Mulch formula makes an ideal playground surface as well as being cost effec-tive to install on any ground as it doesn’t require expensive ground works. Made from recycled rubber, Mighty Mulch is also an environmentally friendly option and is one of the easiest playground surfaces to manage as it requires little maintenance and is quick to install with the minimal amount of disruption.

CASE STUDYWaltham Forest Council

As part of the Playbuilder/Pathfinder investment, Waltham Forest Council had a number of ‘natural’ playgrounds installed by a well-known play company. Within 18 months these play areas had become unusable and were proving to be a maintenance nightmare. Playgrounds UK were asked to revamp 5 play areas using our Mighty Mulch surfacing. As can be seen from the pictures, the difference between the before and after photos is considerable. These play areas can now be used all year round and are virtually maintenance free. The project involved reforming of the mounds, installation of rubber edges and laying of Mighty Mulch resin bound rubber mulch.

The installation of the bonded rubber mulch has greatly improved the play value and appearance of the mounds.

Playsafe is a synthetic woven playground all-weather surface, specially developed for playgrounds. Play-safe can be laid directly onto concrete, tarmac and grass and can be installed throughout the year mak-ing it a versatile playground surface.

Playsafe is compliant with BS EN1177 and is also great at combating soil erosion or combined with an impacting absorbing material can be used as safer surfacing. Playsafe is guaranteed to brighten up any playground and we can add fun and colourful graphics such as hopscotch, number snake and footprints.

Playgrass is a premium artificial turf that has been developed to meet the specific, demanding require-ments of play areas and provides a durable surface for a range of sports and leisure requirements.

Our artificial grass has been designed with children in mind. This surface is strong and resilient and will look the same after many games and balls have been played and kicked. Easy to install and maintain, Playgrass has also been designed as a safety surface with added aesthetic qualities, meaning that it can be used to transform an existing grass area into a play area safety surface.
