Guest ServiceCampmasters are located at the camp office to assist with your visit. If you have any questions, campsite problems or other needs, please look for a Campmaster for assistance. Also, our Camp Rangers are always available to fix maintenance issues in your campsite or latrine. We are here to make sure you have a great outdoor experience.

Camp SafetyFor the safety of our guests here at Camp La-No-Che, we employ the use of two different emergency alert systems. (Lightening Alert Red and Camp Wide Emergencies). This plan has been developed for the use of Scouts, Scout Leaders, and Staff while camping and/or participating in activities at Camp La-No-Che.

Weather AlertsFlorida is the lightning capital of the world and represents a hazard that all should be made keenly aware. Camp La-No-Che is equipped with a lightning detection system called Thor Guard for the Dr. Phillips Park Area. The system senses lightning within a pre-determined safety zone then sounds an alert. Campsites, Adventure Camp, Camp Rybolt are not covered by Thor Guard so please use the weather hazard guidelines for lightning while in those areas.

Camp Wide EmergencyIf there is a camp wide emergency, a wailing (air raid) siren will sound. If you hear this siren, please immediately proceed to the Seneff Flag Pole outside of the W.T. Bland Dining Hall and await further instructions from the Camp Staff.

TrashAll trash is your responsibility. The Boy Scouts of America live by our Leave No Trace policy. We teach all Scouts to respect the outdoors and take care of our precious lands. Please keep in mind, trash (even trash in bags) will attract wildlife. In the evening and when you leave to depart camp, please take your trash to the dumpsters at the exit of campsites 1-16 (behind Trading Post) and 17-25 (behind the camp offices) Thank you!

Camp Wildlife SafetyPlease respect our wildlife and enjoy watching from a distance. If you have problems with wildlife, please report to a Camp Staff Member.

FishingFishing is only allowed at the Cheney Waterfront next to Campsite 20. We do not allow fishing at the Phillip Starr Waterfront due to the dangers of hooks where Scouts get in the lake. Scouts under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

RulesRules are for the safety of the scouts, siblings, parents and leaders. Please follow the rules and if you see a problem, please report the incident to a Ranger, the Camp-master or the Program Director. If you cannot locate any of these memebers of camp staff, please report the proplem at the Camp Office.

Safety Rules1. All vehicles MUST be parked in the area assigned to you at Check-in. IF

you have a state issued Handicap Parking permit, you may park at the campsite and display the permit. A pack trailer may be parked in the campsite (at least 10 feet away from any permenant structure) ONLY if it does not interfere with others in the site and it is NOT hitched to a vehicle. Trailer hitches must be properly flagged while in the campsite.

2. ALL campfires must be in the dedicated fire rings of each campsite and must be attended at all times while burning. Please coordinate with other units in your campsite to ensure that fires are not left unattended.

3. No flammable liquids are permitted in camp.4. NO OPEN FLAMES IN TENTS.5. Cooking stoves must be no less than 20 feet from buildings and tents and

under adult supervision at all times while operating. Please dispose all food and cooking grease in a garbage bag and take to the dumpsters. Do not dispose of this in the outer areas of your campsite as there are BEARS and they can be a problem if you do not control your garbage. Stored food in lockable containers in a secure location to help reduce wild animal visitations. A secure location is NOT your tent!

6. Insect repellent is strongly recommended. If using aerosol repellent avoid spraying while inside of tents.

7. All bicycle riders must wear a helmet at all times while riding. 8. Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times. Flip-flops or sandals are permit-

ted only at the pool & while traveling to the bathrooms from the campsite.9. Extension cords are permitted inside the activity shelter only. Please do not

run extension cords from the activity shelter into the campsite as this is a tripping hazzard.

10. Camouflage clothing is highly discouraged at Camp La-No-Che.11. During your stay please limit the use of your vehicle to ensure the safety of

pedestrian and emergency traffic.12. No passengers may ride in the rear of pickup trucks or on tailgates of SUV’s.13. Smoking (including vaping) is permitted ONLY in the designated smoking
