The Heart Of The Planter.

How it Works

1. One Meter, Many Crops

- White Planters plant nearly any row crop: corn, soybeans, nato beans, sunflowers,

edible beans, snap beans, cotton, milo, sugar beets, sorghum, or peanuts.

2. Positive Air Design Means No Seals to Maintain

- The exclusive design of the positive air metering system completely eliminates

the need to annually maintain seals.

3. Zero Maintenance Guarantee

- Perform routine seed meter care and cleaning of the seed meter and if replacement

parts are required in the metering system during the first three years of operation,

White Planters will supply the parts at no charge. Thats confidence!

1. Low-pressure positive air enters the seed meter.

2. Seeds are held in each seed cell by the gentle air pressure.

3. The seed meters one moving part, the seed disc, rotates counterclockwise with a

seed retained in each cell. Abrasive steel fingers are not used which can cause

damage to fragile seed.

4. As the cell reaches the tickler brush, excess seed is removed from the cell if more

than one seed is present.

5. When the seed advances around the meter, the air cutoff brush gently shuts off the air

and holds the seed in place until reaching the bottom of the seed disc rotation.

6. The exclusive EDGE DROP design of the seed disc gently releases the seed,

allowing it to free-fall naturally into the seed tube at regular intervals as accurately

and consistently as gravity itself.

7. Seed is released in a slight rearward motion permitting the seed to be oriented

rearward and fall down the curved seed tube into the seed trench.

Air Cutoff Brush

When the seed advances around the meter, the cutoff

brush gently shuts off the air and holds the seed in place

until reaching the bottom of the seed disc rotation. The

cutoff brush design provides outstanding seed control

that results in superior seed singling and meter accuracy.

Quick Release Meter and Hopper Removal

To remove the meter and hopper, simply loosen the

large release knob, pivot the linkage out of the way

and lift off the seed meter and hopper. No tools

are required.

Reliable Tickler Brushes

Tickler brushes located at the top of the meter remove

doubles and gently drop them back into the seed sump.

Gentle Air Pressure

Low air pressure is delivered to the seed meter

at 1/2 to 4 IWC (Inches of Water)

- Approximately 1/2 oz. per sq. in.

Exclusive EDGE DROP Seed Disc Design

The translucent seed disc provides visibility of the seed

with the seed disc installed in the meter. No seals are

required. Air is permitted to escape through each seed

cell orifice and around the edge of the disc as it rotates

in the meter. The EDGE DROP seed disc provides

uninterrupted seed release for precision singling of

a wide variety of crops.

Changing Seed Disc

To change from one crop to another, simply remove the

large retaining knob and change to the desired seed disc.

No tools are required and there is no need to remove

the hopper.

Seed Meter Throat

The seed meter throat accommodates a large volume

of seed. Adequate seed flow to the seed disc is of

particular advantage to accurately meter large seed

or seed with a tacky surface.

Seed Gate

The seed gate controls the seed level in the meter for

precise metering of a wide range of seed sizes. The

gate also permits shutting off the seed flow to the meter

for convenient removal of the seed disc without

removing the meter and hopper from the row unit.

Redesigned Seed Sump

The large seed sump is designed to improve the

meter's ability to fill each seed cell. It is positioned

to isolate the seed volume from the singled seed departing

the meter for improved singling of very small seed such

as sugar beets.

Seed Release

Seed is released from the EDGE DROP seed disc near

the bottom of the seed disc rotation, providing a short

seed drop. The short drop minimizes the potential for

interference or delay as the seed travels to the seed

trench; providing accurate seed spacing.

Curved Seed Tube Design

The seed tube is curved just enough to orient

the seed movement rearward to compensate for

the forward motion of the planter and to place

the seed in the trench with the highest degree of

spacing accuracy.

Unobstructed Meter Access

Row unit side panels have been eliminated to provide wide,

unobstructed access to the meter for seed disc changes and

routine maintenance.

Seed Smart Seed Sensors (Optional)

Seed Drain Funnel

The plastic seed drain funnel can be

temporarily snapped onto the seed meter

housing to provide a convenient method of

draining seed from the meter and hopper.

Removing the hopper and meter is not required

The wheels may be staggered for better residue flow between the closing

Gauge Wheel Bearings

The double row 40 mm bearings and 16 mm attaching

bolt improves the connection between the gauge wheel and the

arm. Extended service life of the gauge wheel bearing and

attaching hardware can

be expected.

Seed Clip

The seed tube locating clip positively centers the seed

drop tube between the opener discs. The clip reduces

the potential of the seed tube contacting the rotating disc

openers, which causes seed tube vibration and wear. The

absence of seed tube vibration assures a more consistent

placement of the seed.

Seed Meter Accessibility

Open-framed row unit allows unrestricted

access to the seed meter for meter inspection

and changing seed disc.

Heavy-Duty Double Disc Seed Trench Openers

The 15" disc openers are 3.5 mm thick for longer disc life and

increased durability. The opposing bearing design permits the

disc openers to share the cutting duties equally for extended life

and superior cutting action.

Heavy-Duty Wheel Arms

Gauge wheels incorporate an enlarged grease well and

grease seals to keep dirt out and ensure a fresh supply of

grease is available to the pivot area for free movement of

the gauge wheel arms.

Seed Depth Placement Range

The planting depth range (1/2- to 4-inches) provides the

optimum placement of seed in a wide variety of crops, ranging

from small seeds planted very shallow, to dry land crops

planted deeply into moisture, providing superior germination.

Walking beam gauge wheels walk over irregularities in soil

surface to maintain consistent depth of seed placement.

Closing Wheels

Angled rubber closing wheels (shown), angled cast-iron

closing wheels, or single V press wheels are available for

closing the seed trench. Angled rubber closing wheels are

used in most planting conditions for conventional, minimum-till,

and no-till applications. Cast closing wheels are recommended

for sod and hard no-till conditions. Single V press wheels are

used in mellow, tilled soils.

Increased Hopper Capacity

To increase operating time between refills,

select the 3-bushel hopper. The larger

hopper provides 50% increase in capacity

and operating time. Note: For use on all

Sealed Hopper Lids

be quickly unfolded to 30', and you are ready to handle field

When you are finished, the hydraulically activated wings fold

Speed, accuracy and efficiency are all key factors within

the narrow window of opportunity during planting season. From

the moment you enter the field, the 8180 Series is unfolded

and in planting mode in a couple of minutes. Once in planting

mode, you can cover up to a full 40' each pass, allowing you

to precisely plant hundreds of acres a day. When finished,

quickly fold to a narrow 15' from the convenience of the cab for

transport to the next field.

The integral 3" x 3" fertilizer bar provides the ideal platform

for mounting a wide selection of optional fertilizer openers.

In addition, it enhances structural integrity of the main frame,

making the planter the perfect choice for challenging no-till

conditions. The planter accepts conventional, min-till or

no-till fertilizer openers that allow you to precisely place

starter fertilizer at the selected depth.

High Field Productivity With Forward Fold Popularity.

Flexibility in the field.

The 8180 Planter provides nothing short of total

flexibility in the field. The 2-section planters are capable

of a full 15 degree flex (up or down) at the center of

the planter frame. This flexibility allows the row units to

maintain precise seed depth the full working width of the

machine in rolling and terraced ground.

Dual transmission drive.

Each of the two sections feature an independent

transmission that drives one half of the planter. While

planting on contours, the independent transmissions

eliminate under speeding or over speeding the drives on

the opposite side of the planter. The result is consistent

seed-to-seed spacing when planting in contours and

rolling terrain.

Simplicity and Convenience

For maximum convenience, the in-cab control box

allows you to perform all frame fold functions and lift

the frame into transport position using only one tractor

hydraulic remote.

Optional Equipment

Simplicity of transport is a key consideration with any

planter. The 8200 Series wings fold forward to attain a

transport width that is nearly half of its field working width.

Wing fold planters not only transport narrow, when folded they

feature a low and stable transport height. Tri-fold markers

provide a well defined mark to follow in the heaviest

residue conditions.

Available in rigid or flex frame models, the 8200 Series is

offered in a 12-row 30" configuration. The ground-driven seed

rate transmission provides a wide range of seeding rates.

Row unit-mounted tillage attachments can be added to

prepare a seed zone ahead of the double disc openers. The

tillage coulters cut residue and prepare a seed zone to speed

soil warm-up and enhance germination rates.

The 8200 Series is equipped with hydraulic wing fold

package as standard equipment. The structural design of the

pivot area provides superior strength in the wing pivot joint

and linkage.

The wings quickly fold forward for convenient transport to the next field. Horizontal wing folding provides narrow transport.

A frame that hugs the ground.

The 8200 Series flex frame model hinges at the center,

enabling each wing to flex a full 10 degrees. This enables the

frame to flex a full 20 degrees up or down, hugging rolling

terrain and terraces. If flexibility is not a requirement on your

ground, the 8200 Series is available in a rigid frame model

with the same full range of features and attachments.

Row Unit Flexibility

The 8200 Series Wing Fold Planters are designed to accept

row unit-mounted tillage and granular chemical attachments.

Optional 3-bushel hoppers provide a full 50% more planting

time between fill-ups.

Independent Wing Transmission

Each half of the flex frame planter features an independent

transmission. Thirty-two seed rate settings are made in the

transmission by moving the sprockets. The transmission chain

tensioner features a lock-out mechanism that allows the

operator to have both hands free for sprocket adjustments.

Liquid Fertilizer

For increased productivity, equip the 8200 Series planter

with a liquid fertilizer option with two 200-gallon poly tanks.

The 8200 Series will accept all popular liquid fertilizer openers.

The new 8500 Central Fill System (CFS) incorporates

proven concepts used in the SC144 Seed Cart and 8500 Flex

Frame Planters to provide an onboard bulk seed hopper and

seed distribution system. The 8500 CFS system allows for

more time planting, rather than refilling individual hoppers.

The 8500 CFS is designed for planting corn, soybeans, milo,

popcorn, and wheat.

The 8500 Series offers a full line of frame and row

spacing options that let you tackle a wide range of planting

applications. Available row widths of 15", 20", 22", and 30"

on main frames that range from 30' up to 60', the 8500

Series is ideally suited to planting a variety of crops that

include corn, soybeans, and sugar beets. When youre ready

to switch from 15" soybeans to 30" corn, simply lock up

the split rows and quickly change the seed discs. With

White Planters, changing from one crop to another is quick

and simple.

Each wing offers an 8-degree flex up or down for a total

of 16-degree flex across the width of the frame. Ample flex

permits the planter to hug rolling terrain and maintain accurate

seed depth the entire working width of the machine. Combine

this flexibility with the ability to fold for transport in a couple of

minutes and you have a multi-crop planting system designed to

get to the field and get the job done.

The 8500 CFS can be configured to plant fields of seed

corn or refuge corn (non-Bt). Simply replace the meter cover

on specific rows on the outer wings with the 2-bushel or

3-bushel hoppers.

8500 Series Flex Frame

The split-rows can be quickly lifted and locked in place to go from 15" narrow rows to standard 30" rows.

The 8500 CFS is equipped with two 45-bushel translucent polyethylene hoppers. Convenient steps and platform are located at the rear of the planter for access to fill the hopper with seed.

Each poly hopper has a mixing chamber attached, where the air and seed is mixed and then discharged into individual air distribution hoses.

The 8600 Series rigid two-bar planter is engineered to

The innovative folding mechanism of the 8700 Stacker

Toolbar Planter hydraulically lifts the outer wings over the

center section, keeping the chemical and seed hoppers upright

for transport. Rear fold markers are low-profile and minimize

transport height when in the folded position.

When in the planting mode, the outer wings flex 5 degrees

up and 5 degrees down to provide accurate seed depth control

the full width of the machine in rolling terrain. The wings can

also be pinned rigid for planting on beds or to provide precise

row width for specialty crop harvesters. Each frame section on

the 12-row features a ground-driven transmission that ensures

each section receives positive seed drive in irregular terrain.

At the end of the field, hydraulically fold the wings for transport. Both seed and granular chemical boxes remain upright; no need to empty them for transport.

On the 8700 Series 12-row Stacker Toolbar Planter,

each section features an independent transmission. This

eliminates underspeeding or overspeeding the drives on

the opposite side of the planter when planting on contours.

The result is consistent seed-to-seed spacing the full width

of the planter. On the 8-row planter, two gauge wheels

drive a single transmission. The 32 sprocket combinations

offer a wide range of population settings. The transmission

chain tensioner features a lock-out mechanism that allows

the operator to have both hands free for sprocket adjustments.

Transport is a big issue these days, particularly with

planters or drills that can be 20- or 30-feet wide in transport

down the road. The L&R 20 and L&R 30 Lift&Rotate carts, for

planters, were developed specifically for narrow transport.

The Lift&Rotate carts are equipped with a three-point hitch

that hydraulically rotates 90 degrees from field position to

transport mode in seconds without you having to leave the

seat of the tractor.

The Lift&Rotate cart features an ASAE Category III three-

point quick hitch to accommodate 20- or 30-foot mounted

planters. The L&R 30 telescoping tongue extends for transport

to provide room for the longer planter. Once in the planting

mode, the tongue retracts for improved field maneuverability.

The L&R 20 does not require a telescoping tongue.

Long hitch Model 8700 planters accept the optional 3" x 3" diamond fertilizer

bar for placing most popular fertilizer openers offered. The standard hitch

models permit the mounting of the fertilizer attachment on the Lift&Rotate

Undercarriage provides even more flexibility.

The undercarriage itself is unique to the industry. Two

trunnion-mounted hydraulic cylinders lift the planter. In the planting

mode, the planter lifts the row units 8-10" above the ground to

conveniently turn after each pass across the field. In the transport

mode, the planter lifts to its full height for folding the wings.

Wing Section

Each wing section consists of nine row units, with 13 row

units on the center section. To plant 30" corn rows, simply lock

up the split rows, leaving five row units on each wing section and

six row units on the center section.

The new 31-row 15"/16-row 30" Model 8831 CFS Planter

features a unique frame specifically designed to save you time

and improve productivity. For starters, it folds to a narrow transport

width of 12' 11" in just minutes helping you get from field to

field quickly and easily. Furthermore, you can count on a generous

33 inches of ground clearance to get through rolling terrain.

This underframe clearance also gives you more room for routine

maintenance.

row units. This proven system saves you from having to fill each individual hopper, so you can

spend your valuable time planting instead of refilling.

The 8831 CFS is ideal for planting corn, soybeans, milo, popcorn, and wheat. Hydraulic-

drive variable-rate seed metering offers a full range of seeding rates. Optional Console II

technology varies the seeding rate through your predetermined seeding plan communicating

DGPS position and instructing the planter controller automatically as you move across the field

from one grid to another.

Flexing its wings.

The 8831 CFS is classified as a forward fold, but offers the additional benefits of a

three-section flex frame. That means when you are planting, the outer wings will flex as they

encounter uneven terrain instead of the center serving as the only pivot point. As a result,

you are assured of uniform contact with the ground for more accurate seed placement.

The new frame also distributes the weight of the planter evenly over the tires. This

design reduces tongue weight, dramatically decreasing the risk of damaging the drawbar.

GTA200 Record Keeping software puts GTA100 data to use like

GTA Software

Multiple Implements, One Monitor

The ISOBUS-Ready system incorporates either the GTA

Console I for variable-rate application, or the more powerful

Console II for map-based variable-rate planting.

Console I

Console I enables operators to set 10 preset rates or

customize a bump rate variable. This allows manual

adjustment of planting rates for changing conditions from

the operators seat. Also, AGCO-manufactured tractors

equipped with Console I can be set up ISOBUS Ready.

This allows the Console I, installed in the tractor, to operate

a hydraulic drive planter. For tractors that are not ISOBUS

Ready, the planter can be ordered complete with the Console

I and ISOBUS Ready harness. This provides operators with all

Monitors

SM100 Seed Flow Monitor

Monitors up to 8 rows of high-rate seed

sensors and features an automatic sensor to

detect seed flow. LED row indicators display

the status of each seed sensor on the planter.

Multiple row indicator options, along with

LED brightness adjustment, enhance the

economical monitoring potential.

SM300 Seed Population Monitor

Monitors up to 16 rows of high-rate seed

sensors. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

provides row information in bar graphs,

gauges or flashing bar segments. During

planting it monitors ground speed, area, and

population count. The convenience features

also allow for enlarging display text size for

easier reading.

SM400SE Seed Population Monitor

Monitors up to 64 rows of high-rate or

Seed Smart sensors, and one accessory

input for a hopper level sensor. The SM400SE

is compatible with planters with 12 rows and

up. The user selects the type and number

of parameters to be monitored. User

definable displays include min/max/avg

population, average seed spacing, population

row scan, field acres, and total acres.

The Console II provides the

necessary power to control variable-

GTA Console II also incorporates

the ability to provide true as applied

maps of the rate applied. Map-

Granular Chemical

70 pound (31.75 kg) hopper with slide-on lid is equipped with

a chemical meter for applying insecticide or herbicide. Install two meters and hopper

divider for applying both insecticide and herbicide.

A 7" (177.8 mm) band spreader is standard with

each insecticide attachment. A 14" (355.6 mm) band

spreader is standard with each herbicide attachment.

Optional spring tine incorporator mixes the chemicals

with the soil.

Single Disc Fertilizer Opener/Liquid Injector

Designed for no-till, minimum till, and conventional tillage

operations, this single disc fertilizer opener/liquid injector

features a rubber-mounted tine injector nozzle for liquid

an unwanted trench.

Combination Residue Manager/Blade (Row Unit-Mounted)

Finger wheels clear seedbed of loose residue while blade works

seedbed path. Simply pin the residue wheels up to use the tillage

Row Unit-Mounted Tillage Coulter

The row unit-mounted coulter mounts directly to the face of

the row unit and aligns directly ahead of the disc openers.

The coulter and the row unit both work off the same parallel

links for a precise alignment and depth relationship. The

constant alignment of the coulter and disc openers assure

that the seed is placed in a seed trench with no air space

below the seed that could cause poor seed-to-soil contact and slow

germination of the seed.

Double Disc Fertilizer Opener

for Liquid or Dry Fertilizer Application

Designed for conventional and minimum tillage

applications. Two 13.5" (343 mm) diameter discs

are C-Spring mounted to an adjustable clamp.

Standard-Duty Down Pressure Springs: Provide 5 to 115 lbs. (2 to 52 kg) down pressure. Recommended for improving row unit stabilization and penetrating moderate soil conditions.

Frame-Mounted Tillage Coulter The frame-mounted coulter gets its penetrating weight from the planter frame. It assures penetration without excessive stress placed on the row unit. The frame- mounted coulter is recommended for tough no-till conditions and for use in soils that may contain rocks or other obstacles because the coulter is taking the abuse and relieves the stress from the row unit (shown with residue manager and with strip-ridge till discs).

5/16" Ripple BladeCreates little soil disturbance and operates well at all speeds. It provides a narrow seed trench of less than 3/4" (19 mm). For heavy residue or sod, this slices through the toughest conditions.

3/4" Bubble BladeWedges soils apart to provide a V seedtrack and operates well at most speeds. It provides a seed trench profile of less than 3/4" (19 mm) in the bottom to 1-1/4" (32 mm) on the top. Works well in compacted soils with high residue.

7/8" - 8-Flute BladeMixes soil with surface residue, and operates well at higher speeds. It provides a seed trench width of 7/8" to 1-1/2" (22 to 38 mm). Cuts through residue very well and ideal for soft soil conditions.

7/8" - 13-Flute BladeProvides aggressive soil and residue mixing, and operates well at most speeds. It provides a seed trench width of 7/8" to 1-1/4" (22 to 32 mm). Cuts through residue very well and ideal for medium soils.

Angled Rubber Press Wheels: Improve seed-to-soil contact in heavier soil and moderate no-till conditions. Adjust wheels by offsetting them or changing width from 1.25" to 2.88" (32 to 73 mm) for improved performance at various seed depth and soil conditions. Adjustable down pressure: 50 to 200 lbs. (23 to 91 kg).

Angled Cast-Iron Press Wheels: Great for closing the toughest seed trench. Recommended for tough no-till. Adjust wheels by offsetting or changing width 1.25" to 2.88" (32 to 73 mm) for improved performance in high-residue and no-till conditions. Adjustable down pressure: 85 to 235 lbs. (39 to 107 kg).

Flow Divider Package: The piston pump flow divider provides optimum liquid fertilizer metering accuracy to each fertilizer opener. The application rate per acre remains constant over a wide range of planting speeds.

Fertilizer Metering Guards & Attachments

Piston Pump: The variable stroke, double-acting, single piston metering pump dispenses a consistent flow of liquid fertilizer. All internal parts that come in contact with fertilizer are stainless steel.

Drive Wheel Rock Guard: Protects drive chain from rocks and root balls.

Blower Inlet Screen: Protects blower system from residue.

Disc Trash Master: Two 12" (305 mm) diameter solid discs clear a clean path in front of the seed openers. They move residue to the side to avoid hair pinning residue into the seed trench. Adjusts in 1/4" (6 mm) increments.

Bed Leveler: To level the seedbed in preparation for the seed opener. Recommended for soils with clods or small rocks.

Tillage Coulters

Heavy-Duty Down Pressure Springs: Provide 30 to 480 lbs. (14 to 218 kg) down pressure. Recommended for most no-till conditions. Required for row unit coulter and other row unit tillage attachments.

Single V Trench Press Wheel: Firms both sides of the seed trench in mellow soil conditions. Advantageous for shallow planting in tilled soil. The center of the seed trench is capped for a soft top. Down pressure at 1.5" (38 mm) planting depth is 50 lb. (23 kg) with single spring and 100 lb. (45 kg) with dual springs as shown.
