PLANNINGREPRESENTATION

We chose two social groups for our target audience:

Gender: Female

Age: 16-24

We chose these as we felt that there were no current music magazines which were aimed at this audience. The majority of music magazines are aimed at men,

such as Q and NME, we felt that there was a substantial demand for a female equivalent, however in order to

appeal to women we would need to include elements of fashion magazines too.

PLANNINGREPRESENTATION

We will use female models for our front covers and most of the images inside.

We want them to have a hint of rebelliousness whilst still portraying an overall wholesome image without being

old fashioned.

In contrast to the current negative representation of youths in today’s media we aim to inspire and

encourage our readers to achieve their potential. For this reason our images will not contain any weapons, drugs

or inappropriate clothing.

- we want to use different techniques and generic

conventions in order to attract our target audience.

PLANNINGAPPEALING TO AUDIENCES

We will aim to use language that is deliberately inspiring and enthusiastic which, according to Dyer’s theory, may

encourage the audiences who are suffering from boredom to feel entertained and therefore wanting to

purchase the magazine.

The articles will be informative and educational to our target audience, offering them clarity through giving

them the latest music, celebrity and fashion information.
