Your preferences with no compromiseThe priority in Planmeca Sovereign® design is unique adaptability to individual user preferences. Regardless of treatment or field of specialty fluent workflow is always guaranteed. This clear user benefit is achieved with Planmeca’s strong commitment to ergonomics and usability in all aspects of product design. The user can enjoy a wide range of individually adjustable features, for instance a number of automatic chair positions, fully adjustable instrument settings and presets as well as a nearly unlimited number of treatment positions to guarantee perfect match between user and dental unit.
A multitude of possibilities in one treatment roomPlanmeca Sovereign is the only dental unit in the market with both motorised chair swivel and motorised unit base. This unique combination provides treatment possibilities and ergonomics you never thought possible. The motorised swivels allow switching the entire unit from 10 o’clock position to for instance 14 o’clock position effortlessly for different specialty treatment needs.
The entire workflow can be optimised to perform specialty treatments, such as integrated CAD/CAM, implantology, laser treatment, prosthodontics or even anaesthesia in the same room. All necessary specialty equipment or materials can be optimally organised for seamless and efficient clinical workflow.
Motorised movements for perfect treatment positionsThe purpose of the motorised movements is to minimise human movement or cumbersome treatment positions for dentist or assistant. The dentist is no longer subject to uncomfortable positions or movements. With the foot control or touch screen interface the patient chair can be conveniently swivelled in an optimal position for the dentist to have ideal access to the treatment area. It is even possible to move the entire cuspidor base in case extra space is required.
Swift conversion from right- to left-handed dentistryPlanmeca Sovereign can be instantly converted from right- to left handed use with motorised movements. Entirely symmetrical positioning makes it an ideal solution for larger practices where several dentists share the same dental unit. In case of clinic resale, full left-right conversion provides added value and increases the number of potential buyers.

With motorised unit, daily work at the dental practice is straightforward, pleasant and efficient without compromises.
Unbeatable ergonomics
Unique upright seating positionThe unique upright chair position is ideal for treatments with patient seated, such as prosthodontics, and orthodontics, or even for tooth extractions. With patient seated, correct jaw lines enable easy access into the treatment area. Therefore the dentist can maintain an ergonomic posture and has plenty of room around the chair. Planmeca Sovereign® chair can be adjusted to a very low position for optimal access of the elderly or pregnant patients. The upright position is also excellent for communication or patient motivation purposes.
Extensive legroomThe side-lifting chair and small cuspidor base maximise the legroom for both the dentist and assistant. The floor is left free for stools and for the dental team to work very close to the patient. The lean and narrow backrest design contributes to excellent access to treatment area.
Optimal patient positioning With Planmeca Sovereign patient positioning is quick and easy due to motorised backrest length adjustment, a feature only available in Planmeca units.
The intuitive easy-to-use touch panel guarantees quick adoption of using logic and therefore optimal positioning every time. Motorised headrest and backrest movements are fully synchronised and the headrest is adjusted respecting anatomically correct movements for optimal and ergonomic positioning.
The treatment positions can be pre-programmed to achieve correct position fast with a push of a button. Patient size can be easily selected from the touch panel to adjust the chair accordingly.
Extra room for the assistant Planmeca Sovereign is the only dental unit concept where considerable thought has been given to assistant ergonomics. The assistant element swivels an impressive 230 degrees for maximised space for different treatment needs. The suction hoses and instruments are always within easy reach for both 2- and 4-handed work. The 5-position assistant element provides easy integration of rotational instruments, intraoral camera and scaler, which benefits also the dentist when working alone.

Simple touch screen The entire dental unit – instruments, chair and unit positions – can be controlled simply via single touch screen. Clear symbols and icons allow intuitive use with no memorisation required. The touch panel can be connected to either side of the console or to the assistant side.
For perfect infection control, all functions can also be operated with foot control featuring identical logic with the touch screen interface.
Full instruments control Feel the difference in clinical workflow with intelligent, user-specific instrument presets for instance in surgical treatment. These features will allow you to fully benefit from the digital dental unit and modern dental instrument performance.
With practical quick connectors, all six instruments are interchangeable and can be chosen from a wide selection.
Optimal illumination for accurate treatmentPlanmeca SingLED® operating light provides optimised illumination and uniform colour for the entire treatment area. The three rotating axes provide a versatile movement range and the best positioning for each procedure. The sharp edges of the light beam ensure dazzle-free treatment for the patient. The large illumination field provides excellent visibility to every corner of the treatment area. Planmeca SingLED is very energy-efficient without compromising light intensity.
The light beam can also be easily aligned from upper to lower jaw by a simple movement. With hands-free adjustment of the light intensity and detachable, autoclavable handles, infection control is easy and efficient.

Convenient patient entry and exit positionPlanmeca Sovereign® features a unique seating position allowing for comfortable patient entry and exit. The chair can also be swivelled so that equal communication between the dentist and the patient can be easily achieved.
Unique backrest length adjustment One key advantage of Planmeca Sovereign is motorised backrest length adjustment, essential for optimal positioning of patients of all sizes. Available only in Planmeca Sovereign, this innovative feature guarantees best possible comfort.
Ultimate comfortThe viscoelastic Planmeca Ultra Relax™ upholstery responds to the patient’s weight and body heat, providing extra comfort, especially appreciated during longer treatment sessions. With specially designed Planmeca upholsteries, the patients no longer need to alter their position due to muscle stiffening. Comfortably positioned, the patient is more relaxed and the dentist can focus on the treatment.
Coordinated movementsWith the seat tilting simultaneously with the backrest there is no need for the patient to correct their position when backrest is reclined: all movements take into account human anatomy when shifting from one treatment position to another.
The bending leg rest enables easy entry and exit for the children and elderly as well as for physically challenged patients.
The motorised cuspidor bowl is brought as close to the patient as possible for effortless mouth rinsing.

External infection control made easySmooth and uniform surfaces of Planmeca Sovereign® guarantee easy cleaning and impeccable external infection control, crucial for safe dental treatment. Powder-painted epoxy surfaces are extremely durable and cleaning agent resistant. All critical components can also be autoclaved and the bowl can be detached for easy cleaning.
Always clean waterThe advanced water treatment solutions guarantee that all water entering patient’s mouth is always clean ensuring safe dental treatment for the patient and safe working environment for the dental team.
With the highly automated Planmeca Waterline Cleaning System™ the microbial biofilm is efficiently removed from the dental unit waterlines. The cleaning agent is fed into the dental unit waterlines, where it affects overnight and is flushed away next morning. This reliable system guarantees excellent water quality in dental treatment.
As a result of the periodic weekly procedure, water used in treatment is left totally free of chemicals without altering the pH, smell, taste or chemical composition of the used water.
Leading technology for clean suction tubes Planmeca has designed an innovative suction tube cleaning system to guarantee proper functioning of the dental unit suction system and safe treatment environment.
The system automatically dilutes and supplies the cleaning agent in the suction tubes and removes all air to ensure complete contact with all internal surfaces. The cleaning agent is left to act for two minutes providing significantly more effective cleaning.
The daily cleaning procedure is fast and simple thanks to the clear user-interface and the integrated, automated system that is free of extra accessories.
For larger clinics and institutions, Planmeca is the only manufacturer in the market to offer a centralised suction tube cleaning system, which offers significant cost-effectiveness. Infection control protocol can be further enforced with the help of Planmeca Romexis® reporting system.
