New Energy for RASA
Let’s do this.
In campaigning time, all
candidates parade with slogans and
promises, this booklet is intended to
get beyond these, and propose a
workable and practical plan. My plan
for RASA.
At this moment there are 23
committees on our campus that are all
doing great work to organize a range of
activities for the entire student body.
However, I believe RASA and the
committees are not yet reaching their
full potential. We can do more, and we
can do it even better. We can do this by
putting actions before words, and
workable plans before abstract futures.
My ambition for RASA is to improve
campus life, committee life, and
student life. Starting with the plan of
action outlined on the following pages.
If you have any further

comments. Please, do not hesitate to

Organize Campus Week
Although RA is, in name, a
campus university, students live in 7
different locations spread all over the
city. We can give an impulse to student
life by taking one week a year to stress
that we are, in fact, one campus.
As RASA chair I will organize
this campus week, together with HAC
and RA, at the beginning of the next
academic year. It will be a week filled
with competitions between houses,
floors and campus locations. Floors will
challenge houses in tournaments
ranging from sports, quizzes, theatre,
debate, cooking, and talent shows.
From Zeeland’s largest pillow fight to
Holland’s shortest pubcrawl.
By getting Bagijnhof,
Roggeveenhof, Koestraat,
Driewegenhof, Zuidsingel, Zusterstraat
and Burggang to challenge each other,
we can all get to know the people we
live, work and study with. It will be an
opportunity to meet people you rarely
see around Eleanor, but who may share
the same interests, movie preference,
style or a secret love for statistics.
Plan of Action

Let’s do this.
Improve Committees
Organization
Many first and second-year
students fill the boards of our
committees. Although this involvement
is great, and certainly something that I
will stimulate, every new board
member benefits from improving
organizational skills. That is why I have
arranged with the former RA
communications officer, Gonny
Pasaribu, to provide all the new
committee boards with a special
organizational training at the end of
this semester. At the beginning of the
next semester RASA will organize
another training session. When
committee boards have gone through
these sessions they should be more
prepared to combine their courses with
their committees.
Once the committee boards
are more organized, they will meet
more often with their CAOs, and
provide their members with a plan of
activities for the semester. When
members have a clearer idea of what
their committees are doing, they will
come to meetings more often, with
more dedication.
When all the committees are
running smoothly, they can organize
more inter-committee events that will
interest more students than just their
members.
As RASA represents all
students, the RASA board and all the
committees together can and should
organize a series of events that attract
students with all kinds of interests.
Such as concerts, lectures, public
symposia, or sports matches against
other University Colleges.
Tabula Rasa
With enough dedicated writers
we can easily bring out an issue every
three weeks, and make TR into the
public forum of RA, giving every
student and every committee an
opportunity to speak up.
