was the motto to signify the importance and role of a farmer. While our governments move towards planning and implementing a plethora of policies for our food growers, the abysmal condition of the farmers of the country continues. One farmer commits suicide in the country every 30 minutes, even as plans are made to double their income by 2022. The farmer, the backbone of the Indian economy, forms the basic unit of the agricultural sector responsible for sustaining the entire country, and yet struggles to live with pride.

This grim picture of India's agricultural sector can be corrected by the dedications and innovation of today's youth, who must use the resources to set things right.

NIAM works to infuse the courage and the skills among students to deal with complexities of agribusiness and equip them to take on real life challenges. Managerial skills are instilled in the students through a well-planned, and practical course structure. Here at NIAM, we train our students to bring about the change they feel is necessary, or to be that change themselves.

Established in 1998, under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, Government of India, the Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM) has been shouldering to strengthen Agri-marketing domain of Indian Agriculture. Since inception, CCS NIAM is offering a specialized training, research and consultancy in Agriculture marketing in India and South-East Asian countries.

Management Education has always been an important focus of the institute to develop promising human resource to meet new and emerging challenges in the field of agricultural marketing. NIAM offers a comprehensive two years residential Post-Graduate Diploma in Management- Agribusiness Management. This long-standing program provides a unique management education and prepares managers for Agri-business and food industry to serve sectors like research and consultancy, livelihood promotion initiatives and other organizations engaged in improving the lives of the rural communities.

Farmer wins in the agricultural field, but loses in the market. CCS NIAM is committed to hone and produce such Agribusiness managers, who can change this scenario by integrating production with marketing.

CCS NIAM is engaged in imparting an attitude and scientific temperament among the students of PGDM(ABM) to serve the entire Agri-Value chain and therefore we define them as Techno-Managers.

The Library at NIAM has an impressive collection of more than 12000 books and 45000 periodicals and numerous newspapers. These collections are in the areas of agriculture, management and allied subjects as well as assorted literature and database for all round learning.

There is a whole range of sports facilities including a volleyball court, badminton court, basketball court as well as an indoor sports area. After a long day in classroom, the students break for recreation and sports, which takes care of a healthy lifestyle.

PGDM(ABM) is a fully residential program with separate hostels for girls and boys. The rooms are well furnished with coolers, geysers, curtains and an attached washroom. Hostels also receive a daily supply of newspapers.

The Academic Block houses the modern classrooms equipped with the latest multimedia and audio visual facilities as well as high speed data communication and Wi-Fi. NIAM believes in providing the most effective study spaces to the students to keep their heart and soul engaged in learning.

The NIAM campus hosts a variety of operating systems offering services to more than hundred desktops in the computer center, available at the student's disposal. Wi-Fi facility is also in campus. The network is a switch based network with UTP CAT 6 cabling offering high bandwidth and smoothness. The entire network is a single unit to provide a seamless mobility solution.

At NIAM, we believe in the power of discussion and discourse. The campus boasts of a conference hall, seminar room, executive suites and auditorium, which are used to organize national and international seminars, conferences, workshops, various cultural activities etc.

InfrastructureWe at NIAM believe that a professional work environment contributes to the learning of students and hence care is taken to provide them with all the modern facilities. We believe in pacing towards new technologies hand in hand with going green. The plush green campus, provides them best of both worlds.

Recently a 135 kilowatt peak grid connected rooftop SPV power plant is installed, in a major step towards going green.

ACEThe AcademicCommitteeIt oversees all the matters pertaining to educational frontier of PGDM(ABM). The members of this committee co-ordinate with faculty and administration to ensure that the curriculum flows smoothly and consistently.

The members of the IT Committee facilitate IT aids for smooth conduction of seminars, guest lectures, online competitions and are also responsible for the updating the college website.

The Marketing Club was launched in December 2012 on Facebook. It has got about 3000 followers and the posts are read by about 25000 people spread across 25 countries.

The Finance Committee has the great role of proficiently and resourcefully managing the student's cash.

This committee is responsible for the fortnightly newsletter produced by the students of NIAM. The members ensure up to date articles with active participation from the students.

The members of the committee have the most responsible job of ensuring timely meals for students and guests. It also keeps regular checks on the quality of the food being served.

New Initiative @ NIAM Live ProjectAs a part of course curriculum, each student has to complete one live project of two credits. It is to be completed by the students in association with the organization or company of their interest, post summer internship.
