It is important to determine how they will use the pump and how they would like
to record the information.
• Each driver has a key.
• Each driver enters the vehicle registration.

reading.
• Each driver can also have a PIN number to
draw fuel if required, if their own key is not
available.
• Each Vehicle has a key.
• The system user name now becomes the vehicle
registration.
• Each driver enters the vehicle odometer reading.
Possibility to use the registration field as the driver
name if required.
• View who filled up for each vehicle and the
corresponding date and time.
• Possibility for Vehicle Registration input error.

If you are using a RS485 hardwire connector
as shown opposite please ensure that the
cables have good continuity, the distance is
less than 500m
and the cables are terminated correctly.
Ensure that the device is NOT connected to the USB port
before installing the driver following the steps below.
WINDOWS XP, VISTA & WINDOWS 7
Open your web browser and navigate to the address below to
download the latest Hard Wire Connection driver :
http://www.centretank.com/java/CDM_2.02.04.exe
Save the software to a folder on your PC.
Browse to the folder location of the saved software and run
the setup program.
Use the Internet
If the setup program fails to start, then re-boot the PC, explore the software
CD and copy the MATERIALS folder to the C:\ drive.
Open a CMD windows and run the following command :
c:\materials\software\setup.exe
This will overcome security settings issues with some internet browsers.
A black DOS box will appear on the screen briefly. The drivers have now
been installed to the PC.
Plug in the device and windows will automatically install the drivers.
Should you be prompted, always select YES, NOW AND EVERY TIME I
CONNECT A DEVICE if windows asks this question.

following location if they are not listed on the CD-ROM :
www.centretank.com/java/key_reader_win7_64.msi
www.centretank.com/java/key_reader_win7_32.msi
Save the file to a location on your PC
Make sure that the Key Reader is NOT plugged into the PC
Browse to the folder location of the saved software and
run the setup program.
Click the AGREE box on the licensing screen
If prompted select ALWAYS trust software from MAXIM
Confirm settings if requested and proceed to install drivers.
The program will now install the required files to the location specified.
Plug in the USB (1-Wire) adapter once prompted and
follow the onscreen instructions on installing new
hardware.
Select a USB port that will not need to be used for
any other function, as once installed the USB device
must not be removed or driver re-installation will be
required !
To close the information window and continue
** If this step fails, remove the USB adapter, restart the PC and try the USB driver installation again. If this fails again, then try changing the port that the USB lead plugs into.
The Key Reader connection consumes 100ma and the USB Port
must be able to support at least this value of current.
To check our port settings :
Open Device Manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controller
Double Click on each USB Root Hub Entry
Click on the Power Tab and make sure that the port is capable
of supporting the required 100ma current.
Some newer Windows 7 laptops & desktops do not have this
support or require it to be enabled in the computer BIOS.

Self Service is a Legacy Application and may not work correctly when used with the
Windows 7 Virtual Store feature. The workaround is detailed below :
Disable User Account Control – either through the control panel application or
through the command line:
C:\Windows\System32\UserAccountControlSettings.exe
Drag the control arrow to the lowest setting to
disable UAC.
You may now be asked to restart the PC.
Download the REG file to add an option for TAKE OWNERSHIP on the right click
context menu. Once downloaded apply the .reg file by double clicking on it.

Navigate to C:\PROGRAM FILES\ SELF SERVICE
Right Click on the folder and Select TAKE OWNERSHIP
Change the security settings on the folder to give ALL USERS
– FULL CONTROL
If you do not perform the above then the Self Service database
will be copied to the location - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\
VirtualStore\Program Files\SelfService and will only be accessible
by the user who installed the application.
The MCPro application will not work by default with the database
held in this location.
