Pityriasis Roseas Patient

Age: Incidence between 15-40 Gender: women

•A mild inflammatory exanthem•Salmon-colored papular and macular lesions•First discrete but may be confluent•Individual patches are oval or circinate•Covered with finely crickled, fry epidermis•Most frequently begins with a single herald (mother patch) 2-10 centimeters, a dry, pink to red patch which appears on the back, chest, or neck and has a well-defined, scaly border

•Dissapear spontaneosly after 3-8 weeks

•52 year old•Female

•Multiple pruritic slightly erythematous with hyperpigmented patches.•Patches well demarcated with papules, vesicles, scales and excoriations

•Lower abdomen, inguinals, buttocks

•2 months duration

Pityriasis Patients

•Long axis of the macules run parallel to the lines of the cleavage •Eruptions are generalized, affecting chiefly the trunk and sparing sun exposed surfaces•Moderate pruritus•Mild constitutional symptoms may be present before onset•common in children <5 years is the papular pityriasis rosea

Sites of predilection: neck, thigh, groins, axillae Rare: eyelids, scalp, penis

Frequent relapses and recurrences

•52 year old•Female

Treatment• no treatment and resolve spontaneously.T• Typically, pityriasis will usually clear on its own in

six to eight weeks without medical intervention or therapy.

• topical steroid creams and oral antihistamines will decrease the itching

• Another treatment for itching is UVB light or sunlight
