GAME DESIGN PROVIDED BY UME ACADEMY
Create your own video game! In partnership with UME Academy, students make their own video
games with Unity3D, the game engine used to make top games like Pokémon Go. We will have fun
learning fundamentals of game design, and bringing unique game ideas to life. Students will
customize their creations through art, sound and coding. Learning + Play = Fun! Students will
showcase their creations to family and friends at a demo day. All hardware, software, and USB sticks
are provided. *All hardware, software and supplies are included.
Tuesdays:
BABYSITTER TRAINING By CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM
This course is recognized by the Red Cross and covers the business of babysitting; caring for
babies, toddlers, and school-aged children. Risk management and creating a safe environment,
emergencies and First Aid, feeding, sleeping, games, problem solving, communication and
connection. Certification upon successful completion. **Textbook included in cost.
Wednesdays:
SPECIAL FX - Level 1 FILM INDUSTRY MAKE UP PROGRAM
Explore and Learn through special effects makeup and tools used in the prestigious world of film
industry. Through demonstration and hands on instruction, students will have the chance to create
realistic quality special effects injuries such as broken nose, black eye, bruises, burns, deep cuts,
severed finger, scratches, and abrasions. Also students will learn to create an authentic Creepy
zombie makeup character, and aging makeup for stage/theatre. **All materials are included –
Prerequisite for Level 2

Thursdays:
GAME READY This is a fun and active program for everybody. All will improve speed, change of direction and
agility. In addition to drills; a variety of workouts will be incorporated including in the gym and
outdoors. Each session will combine a disciplined multi-sport focus balanced with fun and games,
resulting in improved speed, agility and overall conditioning. The goal is to provide physical and
mental confidence to play and participate in all sports and activities making it more fun and
successful.

COME OUT AND TRY OUT OUR NEW PROGRAM! WE WILL OFFER A DIFFERENT SPORT EACH
SEASON. FALL IS VOLLEYBALL. All programs strive to incorporate leadership, mentorship.
Participants have the chance to play a variety of games and activities, regardless of skill or fitness

DANCE SAMPLER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PLACE DES ARTS
In this introductory, all-in-one dance class, you'll explore a variety of dance styles like jazz, hip hop,
breakdance and tap. Learn fundamentals of each dance style and have fun doing it!

PRO-D DAY COURSES NOVEMBER 24, 2017
RED CROSS EMERGENCY FIRST AID COURSE
Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for
the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker
safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
COURSE CONTENT
• The Red Cross
• Preparing to respond
• The EMS system
• Check, Call, Care
• Airway emergencies
• Breathing and Circulation emergencies
• First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
• Wound care
COMPLETION
• Successfully demonstrate skills and critical steps
• Min. 75% mark for written knowledge evaluation
• Attend and participate in 100% of the course

using Visa; MasterCard or Interac/Debit from most major banks.
You can get instant confirmation of your spots in the programs you choose. You will require an
email address in order to get your confirmation # and print out a receipt for your payment.
To access the registration website please visit the Pitt River Community School Website then
click on the “Community Programs” button on the homepage.
If you do not wish to register online there is still an option to register by filling out the paper
registration forms. They are located at the Pitt River Community School main office.
Please return complete forms and payments by cash or cheque made payable to Pitt River
Community School.
All registrations are on first come, first serve basis.
