Water utilities are challenged with delivering a high level of service to their communities under extremely tight budgets, with escalating water regulations and aging infrastructure. Industry studies document less than 13% of U.S. water lines have been inspected, and often reactive rather than preventive maintenance programs are the de facto approach. This is primarily due to limited resources and funding needed to operate a more ideal, predictive program.

Further complicating this dilemma is the rapid emergence of inspection techniques and constantly evolving technologies, where claims by manufacturers do not always produce promised results. RJN’s engineering experts, equipped with a proven toolbox of turn-key pressure pipe assessment solutions, are helping utility owners get ahead of these challenges.

INTRODUCING RJN’S “ONE CRITICAL PIPE” APPROACHRJN’s “One Critical Pipe” approach starts with the end in mind. It is systematic, where each step in the process whittles down the program size by eliminating pipes from fur-ther analysis.

TargetedWhy inspect or fix good pipe? Trim down scope by prioritizing the critical pipes.

ValidatedSelect “One Critical Pipe,” inspect it, and validate the technology results.

AffordableIncorporate proven technologies into a prioritized program playbook tailored specifically to your system. Approach your next critical pipe with confidence.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS!The City of Hot Springs retained RJN to perform comprehensive water pipeline inspection services. Using a variety of above ground and in-pipe water main inspection tools, two significant leaks on a critical 27” pipe, transporting water from Lake Ouachita to the storage tank, were located in the first two weeks of the program. After repairing leak sites, the City realized long-term benefits in revenue and production demand.

“With RJN’s multi-year large diameter leak detection services, we located and repaired a number of previously unidentified leaks, decreasing our annual water loss by six percent in the first year. RJN

provided the knowhow and the guidance in a concise executive summary and engineering report.”-Monty Ledbetter, Utilities Director, Hot Springs, Arkansas
