We have begun our Spring 2016 Mission Project, focusing our lesson on God’s creation and provision, and how we can help others around the world. We will raise money through bake and plant sales in May for the project “Arborloo,” which helps many in Africa (and other parts of the world) with their sanitation concerns. About 2.5 Billion people (1/3rd of our world’s population) live without a toilet.

To find out more about an “Arborloo,” Catholic Relief Services have a short and informative video on youtube.com

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

JULY 18-21Monday - Thursday 9:30 AM - 12 PM

Children 4 years old - entering 6th grade Fall 2016 are invited to explore . Familes are welcome to experience the week together and

children under 4 years old are welcome with a parent.

Each day, your family members can become part of history as they see, hear, touch, and even taste what it was like to live in Pharaoh’s empire! You’ll explore authentic Marketplace shops, visit Joseph (who’s in Pharaoh’s prison…then gets promoted to Pharaoh’s palace!), take part in games, dance to lively Bible songs, and sample tasty tidbits as you discover more about how God was with Joseph in good times and bad. These experiences make God’s Word come alive with new meaning for all who participate!

We hope you plan on attending this summer! Jan Telfer or Andrea Unck, Co-Directors.

It is our hope to have more adults participating with Pioneer’s children through sharing sacred stories in Godly Play. If you are interested in becoming a Godly Play Storyteller please consider joining with others for a weekend training in Portland, Oregon this summer August 5th - 7th.

Andrea Unck and I were able to attend this training as we prepared to start our Godly Play Sunday School and found this to be a wonderful weekend for training and personal spiritual retreat.

Through the generosity of one of Pioneer’s educational endowments we will be able to send a group to this training. This was the training that Andrea and I were able to attend 3 years ago when we prepared to begin the Godly Play classroom here at Pioneer and it was very meaningful. It is a blessing to share these stories with the children, and the more adults prepared to present a story the more opportunity our children have in deepening relationships with the whole body of Christ at Pioneer. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity and talk with Jan Telfer if you have any questions. Thank you - Jan 525-1870 x 301 (church) or 520-1733 (cell)
