Pinion Park Yard of the Month November 2018

The Pinion Park Owners Association and Yard of the Month Committee are happy to announce the winner of Yard of the Month for November, 2018.

Steve and Leslie moved to Pinion Park approximately three years ago, and have set about improving their yard from day one.  Steve has done tree trimming, and he and Leslie have trimmed some very fast growing bushes every time it is needed.  They had stone edging installed around their trees and bushes in the front yard.  Major work has been done in their backyard also removing overgrown bushes that the previous owner had installed.  As you walk up to the front door, you see a fall wreath, pumpkins, a scarecrow, fall themed pillows on the porch chairs, and a fall themed flag in the flower bed. Weather permitting, Steve sees to it that the American flag is flying on their porch every day.

We are glad that they chose Pinion Park as their new home. A big thank you to Steve and Leslie for helping keep the neighborhood looking good!

The Pinion Park Owners Association Board and Yard of the Month Committee are happy to announce the winner of October Halloween Yard of the Month, 2018.  Bill and Gloria Covert love making their yard a Halloween delight for the trick-or-treat kids.  They won this award in 2016, and since then have added more items to amaze us.       The porch has a treasure trove of scary things.  There is a skeleton ghost and some skeleton witches sitting with their skeleton dog, cat, and bird.  Look carefully and you will find a bowl full of feet and eyeballs and a casket in the corner!  Everywhere you look in the yard, you will find ghosts, spiders, and bones.  Bill took rope and made a giant spider web coming from high up in their tree and put three large spiders on it. You can't miss all the ghosts, spiders, and bones that are everywhere all lit up and making their yard look very eerie and perfect for a Halloween night!     A big thank you to Bill and Gloria for wanting to make a fun and special night for all the kids and adults who will go by and enjoy it.

moving into their new home six years ago.   They have seen to it that the yard is free of weeds, the bushes and trees are trimmed, and during the holidays that great looking decorations are in place.  Kristine noted that the bountiful amount of flowers that are still blooming after all the heat we had this summer were planted by Brian.  Great job, Brian!

A big thanks to Brian and Kristine for all the years of helping to keep this great little neighborhood looking good!

Pinion Park Yard Of The Month August 2018

The Pinion Park Owner's Association and Yard of the Month Committee are happy to announce the winner of Yard of the Month for August, 2018.

Octavio and Jennifer Meza have maintained a beautiful green yard during the extremely dry and hot days that we have had in August this year.  It accents their beautiful home. Octavio told us that he and his dad made the great looking shutters on their house.  The Western theme is carried out by the shutters, the big T for Texas on the house, the large wagon wheel by their porch, and with the stone accents on the

front of the house.  A Crepe Myrtle catches your eye, as it has so many blooms.  Octavio said that his mom ties the branches together on hers and that is what he has done.  It makes  the Crepe Myrtle look beautifully full of flowers.

Congratulations to Octavio and Jennifer, who are expecting an addition to their family soon.  We wish them the very best and thank them for helping to keep Pinion Park looking good!

Pinion Park Yard Of The Month July 2018

The Pinion Park Owner's Association Board and Yard of the Month Committee are happy to announce the winner of Yard of the Month for July, 2018.

Frank and Susan Sapp have lived in their new home for a little over a year now and have worked hard to improve their yard.  First thing they did was to remove the tree that was in the middle of their front yard.  This gave a clear view of their front porch and flower bed and opened up the yard.  Next, they removed an unwanted bush leading to the porch and planted a rose bush that is a favorite of Susan's mom.  They chose heat tolerant plants in a pleasing color combination that combined yellow, orange, purple and bright green.  Then, to make this yard which is on a hill a winner, they trimmed bushes and saw to it that the grass was watered and green through days of the hot Texas sun.

Pinion Park Yard Of The Month June 2018

The Pinion Park Owner's Association Board and Yard of the Month Committee are happy to announce the winner of Yard of the Month for June, 2018.

Eric and Stephanie Molina are the owners of the last house built in the Pinion Park Addition.  They have worked tirelessly to make their home and yard a standout in the neighborhood.  Eric has already trimmed the neat, new bushes in the beautiful stone flowerbed.  There, they have placed interesting little concrete garden items from nature, like turtles on a log, an adorable snail, and little colorful mushrooms.  They have planted some unusual yellow flowers in containers which give color to their landscaping along with the other flowers they planted.  After a second glance, we noticed some very healthy looking pepper plants in great looking containers sitting on the steps leading to their front door.  They just blended into the nice greenery in their

yard.

A big welcome to the neighborhood to Eric and Stephanie and thank you for helping to keep Pinion Park looking its best.

Brian and Amy Pierce have worked wonders on their yard and home in a very short time after moving to Pinion Park.  First, they removed the "shabby chic" rusted tractor that had been placed in the front yard by previous owners and was left at the side of the house for them to remove.  Next, they had a beautiful stone wall and posts for a fence constructed. Then, Brian built a new fence. After that came removal of a huge weeping willow tree that had taken over their side yard.  That was accomplished by Brian and his dad.  Amazing!  Next, came putting in a huge amount of new sod that is now deep and lush.  Finally, the pretty purple and white petunias in the flower bed added the final touch along with potted flowers on the front porch. Their yard is a total transformation from previous years!

A great deal of admiration goes to Brian and Amy for all their hard work transforming their yard into a winner.

Darrell and Carole Lewis have always maintained a very manicured yard since moving into their new home five years ago.  From experience, we know that it isn't an easy task when your yard is very sloped.  They have no weeds in their yard and that is a feat in itself.  Darrell has had to hand water one of the trees in their front yard during the summers to keep it alive.  He told us that it is sitting on rock!   But this spring, the tree is doing great and looking very healthy along with pretty red Knockout roses, and red and purple Petunias in the stone flowerbed.  Manicured yard, no weeds, and colorful flowers are a very simple combination to make this yard a winner.

Congratulations to Darrell and Carole and our thanks to them for helping to keep the neighborhood looking great!
