Dear Parents,

OPEN MORNING

On Wednesday morning we held our Open Morning. It was lovely to see so many parents,

grandparents and special visitors here helping the children with their work and taking an interest in what is happening at Pinewood.

Some visitors were able to stay for a celebratory morning tea of scones, jam and cream before they headed off.

OPEN NIGHT The whole school was buzzing with excitement last night as we

celebrated the wonderful things we are doing at Pinewood on our Open Night. I was pleased to see so many of our families

wandering around the school and participating in all the activities.

The art room and library were open as well as each classroom. Each year level also performed a musical item in the hall. There were some magnificent performances and some absolutely

beautiful singing taking place. The music program we have at Pinewood is exceptional. In fact, I am very proud of all the

programs and teachers we have at our school. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and accomplished staff.

DISCO

Many students are looking forward to attending the disco on Friday evening.

Thank you to the parents club for organising such a fun event. I am sure the students will have a wonderful time.

Yesterday Thursday the 27th of May was National Simultaneous Storytime. This means that all around Australia at the same time people were reading the same book to groups of children. We celebrated this special occasion in our library at lunchtime. Mrs Hayden read to us the book The brothers Quibble by Aaron Blabey. It was a great read. Here are some photos we thought you might like to see. From Amelia Crivelli and Adline Obrien
