Journey...
Testimonies from recent participants of the 2017 Holy Land Tour
I have been on many ‘trips’ and vacations before…This time was not a trip but a true ‘journey’ that gave me a glimpse into the life of Jesus as He lived on Earth.…This was a journey that I wish everyone could have the opportunity to participate in.
I learned to love Jesus more after visiting where He was born, raised, ministered, and saved souls. I wish soon to take my children and grandchildren on the same trip with Steve.

Wednesday, March 14 – Departure Depart from Washington Dulles International Airport on our transatlantic flight. Thursday, March 15 – Tel Aviv, Israel After changing planes in Vienna, arrive at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport. Visit Old Jaffa, the traditional home of Simon the Tanner and the port from which Jonah sailed. A Shabbat dinner and overnight will be at the Renaissance Hotel, Tel Aviv. Friday, March 16 – Caesarea Maritima – Galilee
Drive to the Roman port city built by Herod the Great, Caesarea Maritima, considered to be the point from which the gospel left the shores of Israel for the Gentile world and the city where Peter showed Cornelius the way of
salvation. We will visit the site of the Herodian Harbor, Pilate’s house, the stadium, and the aqueduct. Next, it’s on to the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, the inspiration for James Michener’s “The Source.” Archaeological digs reveal over 20 layers of civilization, including fortifications of King Solomon and the water tunnel of King Ahab. Megiddo provides a magnificent view of the fertile Jezreel Valley, prophesied site of Armageddon, located at the crossroads of the ancient Via Maris. We will drive through the rolling hills of Galilee and visit Nazareth Village, a re-creation of a working farm and Galilean village as it may have been 2,000 years ago. It’s truly a window into the life of Jesus, Nazareth’s most famous citizen. We will enjoy a special lunch at Nazareth Village. Time permitting, we will continue through Cana of Galilee and visit Church of the Wedding where Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding of Cana. We will arrive in Tiberias for our Shabbat dinner and stay at the U Hotel by Fattal. Saturday, March 17 – Galilee Region This day alone is worth the trip! We are now literally walking in the footsteps of Jesus. You will take a memorable boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a replica of the ancient wooden boat used in Jesus’ day. We will visit an ancient boat believed to be from Jesus’ time and discovered in the dry lakebed of the Sea of Galilee in 1986. Then we will travel on to Magdala, the home of Mary Magdalene. We then continue to Capernaum to visit the synagogue and place where early Christians remembered Peter’s house. Lunch will be at Ksal Hanahal. We will follow the paths of Jesus’ ministry stopping on the Mount of Beatitudes, view Mount Tabor, the Mount of Transfiguration, and visit Tel Yizrael. We will return to the tub areas for dinner and overnight at the U Hotel by Fattal in Tiberias. Sunday, March 18 – Northern Galilee
Drive to Caesarea Philippi (Banias Spring) where Peter confessed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” (Matthew 16:16). Drive up onto the Golan Heights for an overview of the Sea of Galilee basin before continuing to the ancient Jewish village of Katzrin, located in the central
part of Golan. Continue to the Golan/Syria border, which offers a view of the road to Damascus and Mt. Hermon. View the Valley of Tears and return to Tiberias where you will have the opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River, and then on to dinner and overnight at the U Hotel by Fattal.
Monday, March 19 – Jordan Valley
We will begin our day driving along the Jordan Valley, lunch at Qumran, and then tour where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We drive up to Jerusalem where we will view Mount Scopus.
Lodging and dinner will be at the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem. Tuesday, March 20 – Jerusalem This morning, drive to the City of David entering through the Warren Shaft. The City of David is now an archaeological park and one of the most intensely excavated sites in the area. We will look out from the Mount of Olives, then walk down to visit Dominus Flevit and the Garden of Gethsemane. We will visit the Jewish Quarter including the Broad Wall. Lunch will be at the Rova Café. Visit the Temple Institute in the Southern Wall excavations. Dinner and lodging in Jerusalem will be at the Inbal Hotel with a special sound and light show. Wednesday, March 21 – Jerusalem
Visit Masada, Harold's great desert palace on an isolated rock plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. Do a nature walk to the lower waterfall of En Gedi, an oasis and nature reserve, where David hid from Saul around the city of Jericho. Dinner tonight will be in Abraham’s Tent where you can experience a desert
camel ride and visit a pita bread workshop. Following dinner, we will drive up to Jerusalem and return to the Inbal Hotel for the evening. Thursday, March 22 – Jerusalem We will visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Walk along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. After lunch we visit the Church of Pater Noster and then on to the house of Caiaphas, the church of the last supper, and David's tomb on Mount Zion exiting through Zion Gate. Lodging and dinner will be at the Inbal Hotel. Friday, March 23 – Bethlehem/Jerusalem
We will begin the day visiting Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity, the basilica believed to mark the birthplace of Jesus Christ, and Shepherds’ Field. Following lunch, we will return to Jerusalem and visit Gordon's Calvary, the empty tomb where we will share communion.
Following communion we will enjoy a farewell dinner in a private room at the Inbal Hotel.

Next on to the Dead Sea for a relaxing float, rejuvenation, and fun at the spa with overnight and dinner at Kempinski Dead Sea Hotel. Sunday, March 25 – Petra
Travel to Petra and spend the rest of the day touring the hidden city. Travel in a horse-drawn carriage if walking is a concern, or on foot through the deep and narrow passages which occurred naturally, carved years ago by erosion. The Treasury finally appears magnificently in view after emerging from what seems like a hundred turns in the ravine. Begin the exploration of what both the Nabateans and Romans left to be witnessed. Overnight and dinner will be at the Movenpick Petra.
