DESIGN & ENGINEERING

Our designs are based on the recommendations from our assessments, and ensure that security treatments are integrated and coordinated with all other design discipline requirements, including: architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and telecom.

3D BIM MODELING & CAD TRUSYS prepares detailed drawings and specifications in both 2D and 3D, and coordinates with other trades to ensures our client’s requirements are met in all disciplines’ packages.

Our design team is proficient in Revit and 3D building information modeling (BIM). We leverage 3D views in order achieve greater control and quality when managing third party installation projects.

General arrangement drawings, elevations and other details are used to convey the final requirements. Sanitized drawings can be provided to ensure integrity of the security strategy.

TENDER/BID EVALUATIONS TRUSYS provides tender process and bid evaluation support. We qualify and select viable contractors and scrutinize costs to ensure responses are not over-estimated. We ensure competitive bids for installation of all required security elements, saving clients 10-30% off the total invoice.

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION & COMMISSIONING We work with contractors throughout the project to ensure adherence to the design plan, quality installation, cost control, and ensure they provide exactly what was designed. In addition, we leverage the contract, scope of work, specifications, and other tools to ensure the quality is maintained and the costs are controlled.

For commissioning, we ensure that the system and components are installed and tested, and that the contractor met the project and client requirements per the design and specifications.

MICROSOFT

• TRUSYS is an approved security consulting and design services vendor for Microsoft Corporation.

• Design and construction administration services for Microsoft datacenters throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

• Planning, detailed design engineering, and coordination with all other design team members and supporting construction for the access control, video and alarm systems.

• Projects coordinated and managed in accordance with Microsoft’s stringent and rigorous physical security requirements.

SKYPE

• Physical security assessments and remediation for the Skype Data Centers in Luxembourg and Ireland.

• Assessed datacenter alignment with corporate security requirements, as well as the Cardholder Payment Interface (CPI) requirements.

• Prepared a comprehensive vulnerability report and supported site security managers to implement corrective measures.

NATIONWIDE BUILDING SOCIETY

• Detailed risk assessment and recommended updates for Nationwide datacenters in the United Kingdom (contracted through RED Engineering).

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON

• Consulting, planning, design, and commissioning of the network infrastructure and electronic security for the University of Washington datacenter.

• Coordinated and designed the infrastructure for cables, raceways, rack placement, and security at the 80,000 square foot facility.

• Detailed design with CSI specifications and construction administration services.


LAWSON SOFTWARE

• Full IP video systems design, installation management, and commissioning for a Lawson Software datacenter in Minnesota.

• Designs were in line with SOC 3 datacenter audit requirements. Based on our deployed design, Lawson Software was able to meet these requirements successfully.

• Additional design and implementation management was provided for raised floor planning, HVAC, network, power, and structured cabling systems.

ST. JUDE MEDICAL

• Security consulting for multiple datacenter, disaster recovery sites, and colocation facilities.

• Enterprise-level badging strategy and vendor security concerns in multi-use spaces. • NOC and SOC that support these facilities were also designed as part of the enterprise

level strategy.

COMMERCIAL REAL-ESTATE

SCOR

• Designed and engineered electronic security systems and construction administration for 150,000 sq. ft. of Class A commercial office space covering 7 floors in an existing building.

• Required collaboration with property owners and management to ensure the required systems in the build-out interfaced properly with building systems.

CNL CENTER I & II

• Designed access control, video and intrusion system for CNL Center I and II in downtown Orlando, Florida.

• Oversaw installation and construction to completion.

• Designed security systems for private residences, yachts, airplanes and business locations for high net worth individuals around the world, including docks and marine facilities, offices, and complete operational security plans.

RUSSELL INVESTMENTS

• Provided the technical security design for Russell Investment’s new commercial tower in Seattle, Washington. The move was a significant transition for the company after 70 years in Tacoma, Washington.

• Designed the technical security plan, prepared bid specifications, and project management for the installation.

• The commercial tower consisted of office space, data center and security monitoring center.

GOLDMAN SACHS

• Provided the project management and commissioning of the new office tower in Embassy Links Business Park in Bangalore, India.

• Worked closely with the client and integrator to monitor the progress of the project and ensure the company requirements were implemented.

• Coordinated progress reviews, tracked technical details, interacted with the system integrator. In addition, we completed a testing and commissioning process with snag list.

PUBLIC UTILITIES

EUGENE WATER AND ELECTRIC BOARD

• TRUSYS was hired to replace a previous security consultant at the 60% CD milestone for a project under the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection requirements.

• A Threat and Risk Assessment was conducted and the existing security plan for their new operations center reevaluated.

• We developed 100% CD documents for an access control system and digital video management system for this site.


AVIATION

SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

• Supported the South Terminal Expansion project consisting of a new terminal in the existing SeaTac International Airport.

• Project consisted of testing and commissioning of the security doors leading from the terminal to the tarmac.

BELLINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

• Retrofit of the electronic security system, including a design of the electronic access control and video surveillance systems for the external gates, terminal and tower.

• Created an annual emergency response drill and testing procedure according to FAA regulations for critical response to a simulated plane crash.

MCCORD AIR FORCE BASE

• Supported the design and installation of a new electronic security system inside the Western Air Defense System mission control building.

• Included high security environments and mission critical operations.

MUMBAI AIRPORT

• Supported UTC in Bangalore, India with a lead design consultant for the new Mumbai Airport.

• Guided the local team in designing a high-end security system with sophisticated tools to design CCTV, including calculations to prove depth of coverage at various locations with specific requirements.

KING COUNTY AIRPORT

• Designed and supported implementation of a major CCTV upgrade at the King County Airport in Seattle, Washington, to provide broader video surveillance capability at the regional airport.


MANUFACTURING

NOKIA

• Supported a large video analytic perimeter detection system and validated the equipment bill of quantity before the project was approved for the vendor.

• Our engineers found discrepancies that would have resulted in a non-functioning system. By addressing the issues prior to purchase, we were able to save the client from a difficult situation.

• Conducted a survey and prepared a snag list for the design and installation to maximize efficiency and quality.

CUMMINS DIESEL

• Multi-year contract for consulting, design, and project oversight of complex installations of access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems all integrated as a single platform.

• Security consulting and design services for main office and locations in 40+ countries. • Developed the facility security standards, electronic security technology standards

and defined the process for successful project execution. • Implementation of global security requirements at over 50 multi-national locations. • Sites were upgraded to the latest security technology and operations requirements

across the enterprise.

CUMMINS | DUBAI

• Conducted a physical security site assessment for Cummins Distribution in Dubai and recommended improvements to the architectural structure to increase security without adding costs.

• Provided a conceptual design for the technology including electronic access control, network video surveillance and alarm system, integrated through a single interface.

• System designed to monitor activities, control and restrict access to the site, and ensured there was notification of events so security could respond in time.


PETROLEUM

WEATHERFORD INTERNATIONAL

• Developed the Crisis Response and Minimum Physical Security standards for 1,500 international locations in use by Weatherford.

• Worked with the company’s Director of Security to review and update their security management program and standards.

FOOD SERVICE

STARBUCKS

• Developed the Project Execution process and handbook, Electronic Security Standards, and Construction Specifications for Starbucks non-retail investments.

• As their preferred design partner, we supported global projects in their industrial operations including site physical security assessments, consulting, design, engineering, project management and construction services.

EDUCATION

LANE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

• Designed and engineered a 500-door access control system with 50-100 integrated cameras via digital video management system.

• Defined and facilitated the manufacturer selection process, created bid documents to support a worst-case installation scenario for a 500-door access control system, and supported the client with contractor selection.


GOVERNMENT

WASHINGTON STATE TRANSPORTATION INSURANCE POOL

• Developed a set of minimum standards for defining performance and capabilities of video surveillance systems within fixed-route and para-transit systems.

• Ensured the quality of imagery obtained from direct camera feeds, recordings, and network systems was consistent and effective.

• Created a technical recommendations policy statement for equipment maintenance.

STATE OF WASHINGTON

• Developed an international cross-border hazardous materials response plan between British Columbia and Washington State.

• Provided advanced training on the International Cross-Border Hazardous Materials Response Plan for officials in both the US and Canada.

• Conducted a full-scale exercise on the US/Canadian border encompassing over 100 participants from multiple agencies at all levels of government from both countries.

DEVELOPMENTS

IREO | GURGAON, INDIA

• Security consulting and design of a premier, multi-use development by IREO in India including a major hotel brand, commercial tower, retail blocks and residential villas.

• Site risk assessment and developing the primary security protection concepts around the site perimeter, public areas, vehicle access and parking and in the hotel and commercial tower.

MIRA NUEVO SUR | MONTERREY, MEXICO

• Developed the security strategy for a large, multi-use development including a major hotel brand, movie theatre, commercial tower, residential tower and public walkway along a river.

• Site located in an area known for drug cartel conflicts and public altercations. The site required a vehicle screening point and controlled pedestrian access to allow for site lockdowns in the event of a security situation.

• Ensured all measures were considered to provide a safe and controlled environment, while not impeding business and guest access. TRUSYS then developed the electronic security and specifications for tender.


DESIGN TEAM LEADERSHIP BILL MINEAR, PRINCIPAL & CEO Mr. Minear specializes in banking and Class A office building design, with 45 years of expertise delivering successful, complex projects worldwide. Known for his leadership in the development and implementation of security programs in both the private and public sectors, Bill’s security design and consulting career has included complex corporate security programs for clients across the globe.

MICHAEL LACOMBE, PROJECT MANAGER Mr. LaCombe’s security career encompasses technology integration and engineering, as well as project and operations management. Mr. LaCombe is an accomplished security system integration manager with experience managing projects with corporations such as American Express, as well as the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Federal Reserve Bank.

PIOTR TRYBULA, SENIOR DESIGN CONSULTANT Mr. Trybula has extensive experience utilizing threat, risk and vulnerability assessments to design, specify and commission complex, global integrated security systems. Piotr’s career includes serving as the commissioning engineer for AIB and Ulster Bank in Ireland, working with Pacom security systems, and consulting in the areas of asset protection, security technology and security operations.

MICHAEL STRONG, SENIOR LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER Mr. Strong’s expertise throughout his career in security technology includes: imaging sensors, LiDAR based standoff 3D facial imaging, biometrics, RF communications intercept systems, passive millimeter wave (Thermal Imager), CCTV, IP digital video solutions, analytics, remote monitoring and access control, as well as system design and integration, and system control and automation.

JOHN LUND, LEAD BIM & CAD DESIGNER Mr. Lund’s security career began in the US Air Force where he designed and installed critical support systems for troops around the world. In the private sector he has specialized in security engineering and design, providing expertise in CAD and Revit for numerous projects worldwide. Among John’s strengths are his attention to detail, quality work, and consideration for the client’s security needs.
