PHOTOSHOOT 8 Shoot title: Little Human And Large Lake Aim: The aim of this shoot is to capture the splash of water when a figure jumps into a puddle of water. The idea of this shoot is to reminisce over childhood memories where every person’s youthful moments are carefree and they love the simplest things in life. Techniques: The camera I will be using is a Nikon D330. The settings I will be using it throughout this shoot are e.g. shutter speed of 1/250 sec and 1/400 sec and aperture of F/5 – F/6 . The ISO will be set to 200 - 400 as the shoot will happen outdoors with a natural lighting from the sky – I think low ISO will be bright enough to capture desired photographs. Equipment:. A tripod is definitely needed to shoot this plan as it will minimise any camera shake and/ or any hand shake to produce sharp still photos. An assistant will be needed to do this shoot – I will be taking my brother wearing water proof garments and some boots to prevent him from getting too wet. Location: I will be shooting this planned shoot in a lake at James Hamilton Heritage Park, it has a beautiful Loch and is peaceful in the evening. This lake has shallow water at the side of the lake which is good for a child to make a splash in. Transportation is important to carry out this shoot therefore I will be asking a family member to drive me to the lake. Obstacles: the obstacles I may be facing are the weather, rainy weather would not be a good idea as it would damage the camera therefore the shoot will need to be cancelled. A very bright sunny day would not be good for the shoot either as it is a direct source of sunlight and the light can reflect too strongly, so I will try and shoot in a overcast cloudy weather setting for desired results. There would not be any mess as the photoshoot is out in the open area, any splash would not make a mess anywhere therefore nothing is to be worried for after the shoot.

Shoot title: Little Human And Large Lake

Aim: The aim of this shoot is to capture the splash of water when a figure jumps into a puddle of water. The idea of this shoot is to reminisce over childhood memories where every person’s youthful moments are carefree and they love the

simplest things in life.

Techniques: The camera I will be using is a Nikon D330. The settings I will be using it throughout this shoot are e.g. shutter

speed of 1/250 sec and 1/400 sec and aperture of F/5 – F/6 . The ISO will be set to 200 - 400 as the shoot will happen outdoors with a natural lighting from the sky – I think low ISO will be bright enough to capture desired photographs.

Equipment:. A tripod is definitely needed to shoot this plan as it will minimise any camera shake and/ or any hand shake to

produce sharp still photos. An assistant will be needed to do this shoot – I will be taking my brother wearing water proof garments and some boots to prevent him from getting too wet.

EVIDENCE OF SELECTIONS: TOP 5

This shot is taken when the boy is jumping into the water making him appear to float in the air.

1/400 sec of shutter was fast enough to capture this action and freeze it.

The water in this photo looks like it is controlled by the child as it moves smoothly.

A medium depth of field F/5 let the photo to be focused on the child and softly blurring the background.

The splash the boy has created looks very tender representing what a child enjoys.

ISO 800 result in a bright photo along with the natural lighting.

The small figure is being placed further into the lake making him looks small in this big lake.

Aperture of F/5.6 lets the background to be visible and the subject being sharp.

The red jacket stands out as it is a contrast with the blue water.

ISO 200 let the water to appear blue compared to ISO 800 as it dims the location.

EVIDENCE OF SELECTIONS: TOP 2

The balanced composition in the photograph creates a calm visually appealing image as there are no other focal points to distract the viewers eye from the main subject

other than the background.

Rule of thirds is used to separate the parts within the image making it more effective to look at.

The ducks in the background makes the image peaceful along with the movement of the water, it gives a visual of

what splashing water looks like when captured.

Used of natural lighting with a low ISO of 200 resulted to a gloomy photograph, this photo is exactly what I saw in

front of me when I was capturing it therefore display a very true colour of realism.

FINAL IMAGE

The cropped edit makes the viewer focus on the main subject matter of the little boy in this photo which is the main thing I want the eye to see – the display in the photo looks tidy, simple and peaceful and the empty spaces

on the lake allows the eyes to rest and focus on the little being. The red on the jacket gives the photograph a sense of warmth against the cold colour of the lake which applies

contrast in the image capturing the viewers’ attention.

Shutter speed of 1/400 seconds captured the splash sharply, I think the shutter speed is fast enough in this shoot when capturing a small splash of water.

Continuous setting was set to shoot the action multiple times at a fast speed to capture the action to make sure that I have the desired result.
