Dear Friends,
Our walking group at the
Kenosha Senior Center is called,
“Goldens on the Go”. We had a
kick off event last month, to get
everyone fired up. Walking is an
excellent fitness activity. It is less
stressful than some fitness
activities, readily available to
everyone, and easy to include in
your daily routine. Walking has
many benefits. It gently strengthens the cardiovascular
system, invigorates the body, clears the mind and
restores the spirit. Walking in sunlight actually
stimulates vitamin D production, which increases our
body’s absorption of calcium, so vital to strong bones
and teeth. Walking also strengthens our bones by
stressing them, thus lessening the chances for
osteoporosis.
You don’t need to reach Olympian heights to benefit
from walking. You can walk a little or walk a lot. You
will still enjoy the benefits. Just walk regularly. Most
weeks we meet down at the Civil War Museum at
8:00am or 10:00am and walk along the lakefront.
Some weeks we meet out at Petrifying Springs Park.
You can find a schedule of the walks on pg. 5 of the
newsletter or you can pick one up
at the Center. Feel free to call me
at 262-359-6117 if you have any
questions. Join us and walk your
way to better health by becoming
one of the Goldens on The Go!!
See you at the Center,
Denise
We understand that plans can change and you may not be able to attend a trip for which you have purchased a ticket, but we cannot issue refunds unless there is a waiting list and we are able to replace you with someone on that list. The reason for this is we do not keep the money you give us for a trip. It goes directly to the venue to pay for the event and the venues do not issue refunds. If you cannot attend a trip call us at 359-6260 and speak with a staff person. We will instruct you what to do, and we will do our best to find a replacement for you. If we
are successful, you will be notified to come and pick up your refund. To pay member prices you must be a member when you purchase your ticket and on the day of the trip.
