CALAT City and Guilds Photography Courses 2011-12
From September 2011 we will be offering a range of City and
Guilds Coursesfrom level 1-level 3 at the White Box Studio in South
Norwood.
Learners join our courses for a variety of reasons. For some it
is a hobby andthey come to meet like minded people who share their
interest. Others enrol
because they are looking for a change of career or a way of
earning someextra money and they need to obtain the necessary
skills. Whatever yourreason at CALAT you will be encouraged to
achieve your full potential.
To enrol on one of our courses you must first attend an
Information Session atwhich time your current level of skills will
be assessed to ensure that you enrolon the course most appropriate
for you. Please bring with you to the session 5recent examples of
your photography.
Our team of tutors are a group of highly qualified professional
photographers,who have all spent many years working at the top end
of the photographic
industry. They now bring these skills to the classroom and we
believe that thisis the reason why CALAT City and Guilds
Photography is so successful.This was highlighted in 2010 when our
tutor Joe Partridge won the covetedBecta Furthering My Learning
Award for his use of technology in theclassroom.
It was also a very successful year for our learners. In our
first year of enteringthe City and Guilds Photography Competition
we did extremely well. In thelevel 2 we won 1st, 3rd place and a
runner-up and in the level 1 we won 2ndand runner-up. Many learners
sold images through photo-libraries and somehad their work
published in magazines. Our group of ex-learners now workingin the
industry grows bigger each year and they regularly contact us
andupdate us on their successes in their new careers.
Our courses are a lot of work and a lot of fun. Our aim at CALAT
is to producegreat photographers.
