PHOTO 4: Hoses supply soil cuttings to a Cyclone, where cuttings fall into the hopper. The blue hose is the primary cutting return from the upper drive. The black hose is the auxiliary cutting return from the lower drive.

PHOTO 5: Drill string tripped out to investigate the loss of return of cuttings. The drill bit and all subs were disassembled and re-machined after the field investigation.

PHOTO 6: Scouring and denting of outer casing are observed as the lower drive approaches its ability to advance the casing.

PHOTO 11: After the total depth of 229-ft. bgs is reached utilizing flooded reverse drilling techniques, YJD begins installing the well. A stainless steel blank section is installed first, with three sections of louvered stainless steel screen waiting to be installed. At this point, the 24-inch outer casing is immovable by the drill rig.

PHOTO 12: Low carbon steel (LCS) blank well casing is installed above the screen and dielectric coupler.

PHOTO 13: Eventually, a hydrostatic imbalance is successfully utilized to extract the casing. Below is a view of the Extraction Well and Sounding Tube stickup after the demobilization of YJD.
